The first time I ever had this drink was with a friend of mine. Mike and I were staying in the dorms during Spring Break of my freshman year in college. (Yes, I was underage. Sorry.) This was my first experience with any alcohol other than beer, mind you. I made dinner, and Mike said he'd bring up some Kool Aid for us. I agreed.
Okay, rule number one of Everclear: YOU CAN'T TASTE IT WHEN IT'S MIXED WITH SOMETHING ELSE!!! Oh my goodness. I was sitting on the floor. After about 2 full glasses of Kool Aid, I needed to go to the bathroom. When I stood up, the whole world spun.
Rule number two of Everclear: IT AFFECTS YOU VERY, VERY QUICKLY!! I had to grab onto my bunk so I didn't fall. I was absolutely schnockered. This stuff is potent! In a matter of a half an hour, I was completely wasted. I'm a pretty big girl, too.
Rule number three of Everclear: BE CAREFUL! I mean, be careful of how much you drink. You don't want to end up with alcohol poisoning. I mean be careful of whom you're with. You will get trashed. Be careful of what you mix it with. You don't want to get sick. Be careful near fire. Everclear is quite flammable.
It's made of 90% alcohol and 10% water. That's nuts! Apparently, it tastes pretty badwhen shot straight. I don't think I want to try for sure. I mean, we didn't even keep this stuff on any shelf at either of the bars I tended.
It's a good drink if you can mix it and want to get drunk quickly. Not my thing, though.
