Not as great of a deal as I hoped

I got this car seat just under a year ago for our then 2 year old who has always been tall. Although it has been very easy to install in any car I've put it in, about seven vehicles at this point, I was very shocked to see the seat cover the last time I took it off to wash it. I had hand washed it once and let it drip dry last summer yet with less than a year of use the cover was wearing out down to the padding in several places and the seams were coming apart in others. This was the Mariposa pattern, I'm unsure if other fabrics may be holding up better.
I loved how easy this seat was to use, the straps, clips, stationary cup holder and cubby holes under the arm rests, adjusting head piece, everything! But the fact remains that this seat is made to hold a child to 65lbs then work as a booster, then a backless booster. This seat is designed to be used 6+ years yet the cover hasn't survived even one year.
Graco did send me a new cover within days, but this cover looks like it has the same weak areas as the first. I guess if it wears out I'll be calling them again.
For the price of this seat I really did expect better quality.
