Great media PC but it could use a better battery!

I've been using this laptop for about a year now.
I'm going to make this review very straight forward since I know most people looking for a laptop really just want the pros and cons.

Pros:
1) Fast
2) Nice widescreen
3) Keyboard is very user friendly.  You can disable the mousepad if you have an external mouse with a tap of a button.
4) Two headphone outs which is key for watching movies with someone else when traveling.
5) Nice media controls just above the keyboard
6) Memory slot for easy image uploads

Cons:
1) Glossy screen - This is more of a personal preference but I like matte screens because you get less glare.  The glossy screens are supposedly better for media though.
2) Battery life! - this is the biggest bummer for me.  If you're watching a dvd, the battery life is barely enough for 2 hours. It's almost like rolling dice as to whether you finish a movie on one charge.
3) Vista! - Luckily I had XP to downgrade to but yes, vista sucks.  This machine comes stock with Windows Vista.
4) Monitor Out - No plugs to hold the cable in.  I guess they expect you to just plug it in and that it's never going to fall out.
5) Weight - It's on the heavier side but I guess that's to be expected from a media branded laptop like this one.

Overall I really like this laptop for work and home use.   I wouldn't recommend this one for the traveler.

After working through some of the early Vista Bugs this machine has proven to be a very dependable machine. this machine is meant for home mobility, office, patio, couch, etc, try taking this on a serious road trip and the casing is likely to crack or get damaged. Needless to say this thing rarely makes it out of the house.    The Good  It's an HP  Wide Screen  Full Keyboard  Windows Vista  Great Value    The …

HP just keeps delivering high quality machines, both our desktop and laptop are HP. The primary purpose for this purchase was to use it to work from home for an architectural firm, so I needed at least 2 gb RAM to run Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, and AutoCAD. Needless to say, this laptop tackles the load! I bet it would be even more impressive if I upgraded the memory. I bought this laptop refurbished and had no problems with it.  Mine has Windows XP because I did not want to deal with compatibility …
