Probably the best subwoofer for the price in my opinion, plenty of power, sounds amazing

The JBL Balboa Sub 10 looks great. It is enclosed in a black cabinet that measures about 16 x 14 x 20. The 100 watt (200 watt peak) subwoofer is mounted on the bottom facing the floor and it has a large air vent on the front of the cabinet. This subwoofer is a beast and weighs in at 35 lbs. The size of the Sub 10 may be an issue for some people but it hasn't been a problem for us. However I could see it being a problem if you have a small living room or if you don't have extra space beside your entertainment center. The cabinet seems to be well made and it is very solid and strong. The reverse side has a power switch, volume adjustment, audio input, crossover adjustment and phase switch for fine tuning.
I have used this subwoofer as part of my home theater system for about 4 weeks now. We have watched about 15 movies while using it. The Sub 10 sounds simply amazing straight out of the box without any adjustments at all. It's very large in size and heavy but it brings a huge amount of deep floor shaking bass. This 10 inch amplified subwoofer will bring down the house or at least rattle the windows and everything in it. It makes movies so much more realistic and it makes you feel like you are at a movie theater. The bass is so strong that I would be careful if you are planning on purchasing and you live inside an apartment because you might really annoy your neighbors. If you can't feel the floor shaking then you need to check your set-up because I assure you that the Sub 10 can deliver and performs very well. This subwoofer pretty much performs perfectly in my opinion and the price is much lower than so many other similar styles.
I have owned JBL speakers in the past and have never had a problem with them but they do stand behind their speakers with a 5 year warranty and a 1 year warranty on the amplifier. That's pretty good in my opinion because most products only come with a one year warranty in my experience.
There are many options in the world of Subwoofers and as a result there are dozens of price points. The question is - what do you need? Are you using this speaker to - - As a boomer for dancing - As a source for bass during movies - as part of your home entertainment center - General music listening - All of the above The problem is that very few subs excel … more
