Pros: Great for dry feet, smells wonderful

Cons: very expensive

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an incredible product to make an impact on your foot health, this is definitely the one.

I have had a long standing issue relating to my Contact Dermatitis. This is basically a skin condition that causes me to have severe allergic reactions to a variety of chemicals throughout the house and in the workplace. My condition has now become so bad that I get the equivilent of a chemical burn whenever I pump my gas. So, I have learned to be extremely cautious in where I go and what I do. This has also made a huge impact on what products I am able to use around the house as well. Unfortunately, regardless of how careful I am, I'm always going to have a flare up, and generally these flare ups are no worse than extreme dry peeling skin, which can be treated with 100% white petroleum or with other lotions. Personally, I hate feeling oily all day so I generally try to avoid the white petroleum and use lotions instead.

While visiting my mother in Florida this last year, I found a product that is truly incredible. First, she introduce me to the hand lotion by L'Occitane, but I found out that they had many other products and I tried out the L'Occitane Shea Butter Foot Cream in order to remedy my issue with dry cracking skin on my feet, caused by my Dermatitis and made worse by the constant running that I do on a daily basis. The combination of the two have created a nightmare situation for my skin, and I needed a solution and fast.

How does it feel?
The very first thing that I noticed about the foot cream was how it felt. It is extremely thick in comparison to other creams on the market, but it feels wonderfully silky and smooth upon application. It takes about the same amount of time to rub into your skin as other lotions, but the overall effect is substantial in comparison. I found that after a good 30 seconds of massaging into my foot, my foot felt instantly moisturized and relieved from the pain of dryness. Generally I find that I have to constantly reapply the lotions that I normally use, but this only took a single application every 4-5 hours to be effective, which was a great improvement from what I was used to.

The cream after a period of continual use over a 4 month period of time has brought my feet back to a normal level of health. They feel smooth, they don't have issues with cracking, and now look and feel like you would hope that your feet would look. I'm truly impressed with the improvement that has been made to my feet, especially considering the amount of stress that my long daily runs put on my feet.

How does it smell?
Much like the hand cream, the foot cream smells incredible. I compare it to the smell of a coconut cream pie with honey. Almond is also slightly there, but you can barely smell that and only if you catch it just right.

The overall smell of this product is somewhat long lasting as well. I find myself walking around the house after applying it and my fiance will always tell me how incredible it smells, then I'll see her sneak into the bathroom to use the product. Unfortunately, because of how much it costs, I don't like to let anyone use it, because I can't just go and replace it here in Alaska, I have to special order it.

Where to purchase
As they don't seem to sell this product in Alaska, where I live, I generally order it, along with the hand lotion through beauty.com. They generally give me a discount for quantity when I order by the case, but often times I get a better deal by ordering directly from Florida through my mom. The local salon gives my mom the containers for $16 each as compared to the $25 each that I pay at beauty.com for individuals and $23 per container with a case. Without these purchases, I am stuck attempting to find it locally and so far I have been completely unsuccessful, even after calling countless salons and visiting numerous retailers.
