Don't have a clue how to pronounce it, but it's good...

Pros: smells great, feels great, long lasting moisture

Cons: Quite expensive

The Bottom Line: This is definitely a great product that has truly made a huge difference on my overall skin condition. I highly recommend it.

For the last 2 years I have had some extreme issues with dermatitis. This essentially causes all sorts of problems with my skin, which causes reactions to virtually everything imaginable. Because of this, I'm always looking for new products that I can use to keep my hands moist, that don't cause allergic reactions at the same time.

The most difficult task about finding new lotions is that living in Alaska creates quite the obstacle to finding good products. This isn't because we don't get them, it's mostly because by the time we get them, they disappear shortly afterwards. It's very difficult to find a brand that you really love and stick with it, because of this. So, my solution has always been to stockpile my favorite products whenever I make my annual trip to Florida to visit my parents. Upon visiting, my mother showed me a product that she had been using for quite some time and really loved. This product was L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.

How does it feel?
Upon application of the product for the first time, I noticed that it was substantially thicker than any other product that I have ever tried. Most of the products that had worked best for me in the past were somewhat thin, so I was really starting to doubt this product from the beginning. I just didn't see how this thick of a product would be able to be absorbed without rubbing it in for a long period of time.

With a little bit of rubbing I noticed that the product was quickly absorbed, in about the same amount of time it takes for any other lotion. The big difference however, was that my hands felt great. They truly felt moisturized instantly, which normally wouldn't happen with other lotions. Generally, I find that I am constantly applying more lotion over and over until I just give up altogether. This wasn't the case with this product. I felt like I should be adding more, but I really didn't have to use all that much to cover my hands and keep them perfectly moisturized.

How does it smell?
The biggest surprise was how good the product smells. Considering that my mom enjoys the smell of Vanilla, which I find absolutely repulsive, I figured this would be along the same. However, it had the smell of a Coconut Cream Pie, with a little bit of Honey Green Tea mixed in. I'm not sure why it that combination of smells to me, but it was a great smell overall. I think the most distinct smell was the intoxicating smell of honey. I still remember after first applying it, smelling it over and over again.

Where to purchase
I generally find this product at high end retailers in Florida, but they also sell it on beauty.com, which is where I normally purchase it while I'm in Alaska.

The cost is fairly expensive. I generally pay $16/tube when I purchase it by the case, or $25/tube when I purchase it individually. I have however, seen it as high as $35/tube in some of the high end salons. The product is somewhat difficult to find however, so a lot of times I'll find myself just paying whatever price they want for it. The product seems to sell out rather fast at most of the locations, so you might as well just buy it when you can.

Final Thoughts
Over the long term, I found that this product still worked better than any other product. I am now able to go longer periods of time without having to have lotion nearby and obviously this is great for me, especially as a guy.

This is definitely one of my favorite products and I now purchase it on a regular basis through beauty.com or have my mother purchase it by the case and ship it up to me. The bottle itself runs out rather quick because of how thick the product is, but it is definitely worth it. You will find that you use far more of any other product than you would of this one.
