John Ashcroft's NEVER AGAIN Reveals His Resolve, Political Mission

I think it would be fair to say that all of us are molded by the events in our lives, whether they are good or bad. For John Ashcroft it is evident through his book NEVER AGAIN that he is a product of his faith and a life of challenges, disappointments as well as world events.

Taking us into his life sets the stage for why he reacts to events the way that he does. We also realize that his belief in God and his faith are not just symbols for the public but a true representation of who he is.

When it comes to how he conducted himself in the world of politics, I think it would be fair to say that even there his idea of morality came through and affected the way he look at his responsibilities. It was his time in the Bush White House, however, that would create the chapter of his life that many people would remember and shape their perception of him.

Even before the horrific events of September 11, 2001 his confirmation was contentious and set the stage for his relationship with many in Washington. After September 11th, John Ashcroft took up a new role as the authority of justice for the country. He was expected to work with the President in making sure that America was made more safe by its policies as well as the way it handled those who wanted to do the country hard.

It was the latter of his responsibilities that Ashcroft really took the most seriously, and it was this that many would judge him the most on.

Reading this book let me know what John Ashcroft's motivation was as he worked in the White House. His job was not an easy one, and it was compounded by the personal responsibility he felt towards the American people.

I enjoyed this book because I think none of us would know what we would do in his situation unless we are confronted with it. Richly delivered, NEVER AGAIN reveals his resolve and his convictions.

John Ashcroft was Attorney General during the dark days of September 11 and its aftermath, and he takes his autobiography title from the charge given him by President Bush to protect America from a repeat of that terrorific event.   The pressure was clearly intense, the challenge daunting, the situations chaotic, especially in those early days.  and the results in the retrospective of the decade since astoundingly good. From Ashcroft's narrative the results are even better than …
