With a house full of teenagers, and teenagers' friends, it seems like we keep the pizza driver busy. We order at least twice a month, and sometimes much more frequently depending on which kid has the active social life.
I've been ordering pizzas delivered from the same Pizza Inn for six years. I've memorized the phone number in fact. I really like the fact that when I call in that they ask me for my phone number and then have all the delivery information and what my last order was. I always tear the coupons off the end of the box and stick them in the drawer because I always seem to use them. It has gotten to be a habit.
The deal that I almost always get is two large two topping pizzas for $16.99. Sometimes there is a promotion going on, but generally this is the best deal that we can get. It's a juggle making everyone happy, or rather ME happy. I'm the oddball, I like meat on a pizza. The rest of them are veggie and cheese lovers. I like that they offer several different choices for the crust, but I always order the New York Style Pan Pizza.
Recently, I went to the website for Pizza Inn to see about ordering online. This practice is substantially more expensive, but what I got out of the experience was a list of toppings that I didn't know about. I never knew that they had a spicy chicken topping. Armed with new information, I called the order in. We tried the spicy chicken combined with mushrooms and it was a big hit. The chicken appeared to be nice sized chunks of white meat with a good flavor. We got it again a few nights ago and again it was very good.
Our Pizza Inn tends to overestimate on the time required to bring our order. They very often tell us it will be an hour when it is in fact half an hour. I appreciate this practice. It is so much better to be happy with early delivery than unhappy with late. Our drivers know to honk when they get in the driveway to see if the dog is in the yard, and will come on up to the door if they can hear him barking in the house. I really appreciate the opportunity to do enough business with a merchant in the neighborhood so that we get to know them. I don't know any of the cooks or cashiers, but I think my whole family knows all the drivers at this point. Our pizzas are always delivered hot, and extra condiments are generously provided upon request. This location will also cheerfully accept my personal check for payment.
Over the years, I've had many "dine-in" experiences as well. As a rule, I've found the locations to be clean and neat and run in an orderly manner. The salad bars have fresh ingredients with a pretty good variety of choices. Many of the locations have a juke box, and my kids get a kick out of hearing some of my "geezer" music.
Overall, I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with Pizza Inn. That's why I consistently give them my patronage. I wish that I could say their competitors were as consistent, but then maybe that consistency is what gives them the edge with my purchasing dollar.
