Big Name, Little Menu

Pros: Convenient to locate downtown

Cons: Wait line too long

We went to Chicago on a business trip in the summer of 1998. We had heard of Planet Hollywood and wanted to check it out. We were hoping to run into Michael Jordan since he was noted for dining there. We parked in the underground garage which was well-lit and secure. When we got to the restaurant's entrance, we expected the long line waiting before us. We had visited other Planet Hollywood restaurants in the past. The decor was just like the other restaurants. The atmosphere was loud with several different screens flashing and people were walking closely to your table. We ordered hamburgers and pizza, the menu was limited. The food was tasty, but a bit overpriced. I enjoyed the gift shop more than the food. In summary, I think you pay for the scenery, not the food!

I would like to add to this epinion on 7/3/00. One of the things that I did enjoy about the restaurant was that the kitchen was in full view behind a glass wall. You could see how they were preparing the food. The kitchen appeared clean and the cooks appeared neat. They also had an area on the balcony that you could only get to by a private elevator. I figured that this area was for private parties or special guests that did not want to be disturbed while they were eating.

The reason I was not too impressed with the displays on the wall were that most of them were items of clothing that an actress or actor had worn in a scene of a movie. The videos they were displaying on the movie screens in all of the dining rooms appeared to be more like a commercial than any type of entertainment. It was fun to put your hands in the actors molded imprints just to see if you were the same size! The food was not remarkable due to the limited menu, but it was adequate. I preferred going to the The Rainforest Cafe over this one. The food that was served there was delicious and more than you could eat. Thank you for reading this addition to my opinion.

Pros: good service, no wait, great food     Cons: Struggling business, too bright, kind of pricey     I have been to several Planet Hollywood restaurants in the United States. From New York to Nashville, every menu has been the same. My mother was completely against going to Planet Hollywood for lunch while we were in New Orleans, but I begged her. (It's a hobby of mine to collect pins from Planet Hollywood and the Hard Rock Cafe.) We were walking down Decatur …

Pros: Lethal Weapon Brownie; Got Meal for Free Since Service Was So Terrible     Cons: TERRIBLE Service!!! Everything was absolutely ice cold. Server was rude-- Manager had to apologize for everything.     I have been to Atlanta many times, including for the Olympics in 1996. When I go to a major city, I try my best to patronize Planet Hollywood and The Hard Rock Cafe, and buy a pin. I have been to many of these restaurants.      The Planet …

Pros: The service     Cons: The price and food quality     Being an actress, I've been to many different Planet Hollywoods. I enjoy looking at all the different paraphenalia from all of those movies, although I've been told that a great deal of it is fake. That really is disappointing. Considering that is the reason people go to Planet Hollywood in the first place and not for the food, it's no wonder that the company has gone bankrupt.   The food …
