The Wheels on the Truck Go Round and Round.

Pros: Soft and squeezable rubber and inexpensive.

Cons: Could be just a little bit louder, hard to hear.

The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this as being one of your child's first toys because of the safety issue. You will not have to worry about them getting hurt.

My wife and I purchased this fire truck for our son when he was two years old. And now that I see how much fun he is getting out of playing with it, I wish we would have purchased it a lot sooner. We only paid $32 for this from Toys "R" Us. Our son has since grown up and has left it with us for the grandkids to play with, and they are getting as much fun, if not more enjoyment out of playing with this. I am so glad to see that Playskool has finally come up with a soft plush cushy toy, so that the children will not get hurt when they fall on top of the fire truck. This is a great toy for hours of fun, where you do not have to worry about them getting hurt. My grandkids and kids have loved this toy for years. They would sit there all afternoon and just let their imagination run wild.

This particular toy is not very large. It is only 7" x 9" x 9", and only weighs approximately 2 pounds. It is red with blue wheels. There are spots on the top for the toddlers to grab very easily, and it is also very soft and squeezable rubber. The wheels only turned a little bit when the toddler applies pressure down on the fire truck and uses his force for the truck to turn. Since this is made up of a very soft squeezable rubber you will not have to worry about your child getting hurt when they fall.

There are a couple of nice features that you would not expect on this kind of toy since this is made up of a squeezable rubber, and that is the fact that if you press on the front bumper you will hear beeping noises and engine noises. This is a freewheeling truck it does take a little bit of pressure and work to get it to move but it will move and possibly get away from a child. This is a good thing because this will teach him balance, and as this is freewheeling you will only have to worry a little about the truck flying out from underneath him when he leans on it. This will take two AAA batteries to get it to run, and believe it or not these batteries come included with this truck. These batteries are so that you can hear the engines sound, and it sounds just like a real engine except for the fact that is a little hard to hear, it could be just a little bit louder.

The recommended age for this truck is from 12 months to three years old. But that is only a guideline I have seen kids younger than that and older than that to continue to play with this and have hours of fun. Such is the case with my grandkids they are older than three, but they continue to play with toys such as this.

My grandkids will sit there for hours and imitate the truck noises and honking noises that this makes. This is an excellent purchase and you will not have to worry about it hurting any furniture or your ankles. There have been times that our grandkids had tried to sneak out of the house, because they liked it so much they wanted to take it back to their house. Just watching my grandkids crawl to get this, and the look in their eyes as they about pop out of their heads when they see this bright red truck, and when it makes the engine noise and honking sound all of the 00hs and aahs that they make are well worth the price of this truck. It is really nice to watch a child learn how to use this and not get hurt. When they first find out that this rolls better when it is not on any carpeting, it is hilarious to watch them and see the look in their eyes. I would highly recommend this being one of the first toys that you get to your kids when they first start walking
