Signature Club A Fresh Cut Flowers Blush turns my face into a disco ball.
Sep 30, 2010
Pros: Large compact, dimensional color, isn't cakey, glides on nicely
Cons: Very shimmery, slightly orange, never get the same shade twice
The Bottom Line: Signature Club A Blush Fresh Cut Flowers in Fresh looks pretty in the compact but very shimmery on my face. If you like shimmer, you may love this!
I used to be a big fan of Signature club A cosmetics and skin care but moved on. I recently bought a kit of cosmetics on HSN.com and also picked up a few others on eBay. One product I found on eBay was Signature Club A Blush Fresh Cut Flowers in the shade Fresh. It looked pretty in the case but it's too sparkly for me.
This blush comes in a huge oversize compact. It is a simple black plastic snap type compact and the blush has a pretty flower design in many colors. The idea is to swirl the brush around to get dimensional color with the many shades. When first opened, this blush looks really pretty. After using it a few times, the flower design gets messed up and it basically looks like a bunch of colors mixed together with a slight floral pattern. This is a powder blush and is designed for women over 40 as are most Signature Club A cosmetics. It does not come with a brush but has a mirror on the inside of the top of the compact. My Experience
I used to like Signature Club A products because they were made with women with dry or aging skin in mind. I moved away from the brand when the shades became orange and the quality seemed to drop. I was hoping that after a few years of being away from it, that Signature Club A's owner Adrienne would have come out with some great products. The new kit I just bought is far from great and this blush, unfortunately is as well.
When I opened the sealed in plastic compact, the flower design really caught my eye. But so did the shimmer. I could see sparkles on the layers of color, especially on the white shade at the very bottom.
I have a good blush brush and I swirled my brush into the blush, picking up all the shades. I then applied the blush to my cheekbones and apples of my cheeks.
The shade came out a bit muddy. It was almost orange but also had some pink in there. The color wasn't bad, just not exactly my preference. But that wouldn't have been a big issue. The issue is that Signature Club A Blush Fresh Cut Flowers is sparkly. I don't like shimmer and I feel that, as we age, shimmer tends to settle into fine lines and look a bit garish unless it is very sparse. This blush has a lot of shimmer in it.
When I looked in the mirror, I could see specks of glitter on my face and it wasn't appealing at all. I like blush to give me a flush of color, not to make me look like a disco ball.
The actual blush though is smooth and velvety. It glides on nicely and isn't too dry or cakey. It also isn't too heavy. The shade always changes because of the many hues in the compact but it's always slightly orange with different shades mixed in.
The blush lasts for quite a while on my face but the shimmer tends to navigate all over my face.
I didn't have any skin issues with this blush and it washes off just fine with my usual facial cleanser. I just didn't like the shimmer and the shade was a little off for me. Buying Info
I am not sure if Signature Club A Blush Fresh Cut Flowers in Fresh is still being sold on HSN.com where all Signature Club A products are sold. I think it may have been phased out. I bought my compact for $10.00 on eBay and there were plenty listed. There is an eye shadow as well in this same family and name and I own that too. It's shimmery as well but do-able. I believe the full retail price for this blush is around $20.00.
Well, Signature Club A Blush Fresh Cut Flowers in Fresh looks great in the compact! It's pretty and the compact is really big (but shallow). However, the shade is orange tinged and the blush is very shimmery. If you like shimmer and like the idea of dimensional blush, this may work well for you. I won't be using it again simply because of all the shimmer. I could have dealt with the somewhat off color. I give this 3 stars. For me, it didn't work but it may for you.
