I read about Terressentials while researching information regarding the use of grapefruit seed extract as a preservative in hand-crafted body creams, shampoos and body washes. Owners Diana Kaye and Jim Hahn feel very strongly about the use of harmful chemicals, parabens, and other so-called organic products that sadly, have become staples of the cosmetic industry. Because of their concern for overall well-being and healthy living, their website contains much information regarding the use of such dangerous ingredients. In fact, even after countless requests for a sunscreen, the couple suggest limited exposure to the sun during peak times rather than submit the body to harmful titanium dioxide and zinc oxide usage.
While surfing their informative site, I came across the Hair Wash, read the page suggesting the fragrance for my hair type and ordered a bottle with full intentions of participating in their 7 day hair detox. I ordered directly from the site as the shipping charges as well as the type that I needed was not viable through Amazon--the shipping costs were ridiculous on Amazon and need to be adjusted.
I used about two tablespoons in my hair--my hair is long--the longest strand hits mid back when wet. The product does not suds; it contains a combination of essential oils and clays which is easily rubbed into wet hair. The first wash of detox requires 3 applications--easily accomplished. At first, the feel of the mud in the hair seems strange especially when one is expecting a volume of soap bubbles. As soon as this first round is rinsed, the hair takes on a whole new texture where the water positively glided through my hair making conditioners non-essential to the process. My hair felt so good, I could finger comb it with ease--and this only after the first step!
The experience became even better upon the drying procedure. Usually, I apply a curl enhancer and a fixative to ensure that whatever styling I achieve stays in my hair for at least a few days. I decided to follow the Terressentials instructions to the letter and used NOTHING. I clip my hair in places to ascertain that my curls are shaped as I choose and I blow this dry with a blower that caters to curly/wavy hair. The results were great! My hair looks soft, yet retained is curl and shine. WOW! Teressentials cut my process down to an hour! That is a miracle!
I am not an expert with regard to hair--but I do know my own head after doing it for most of my life. Terressentials allows my hair to spring back to life. No need for all the fixatives and other accoutrements that strip your hair of its natural glory. I have completed my detox and my hair really looks great! And just think of all the money I saved!
Note: If you do not wash and style your hair every day, you might want to add some styling gel to keep your style intact between washings. This natural approach works best when you wash and style daily.
Bottom line: If you have curly or wavy hair like I do and want to bask in naturally shiny hair that really feels like hair, try the Terressentials Pure Earth Hair Wash. The 8 ounce bottle is surely enough for you to complete your detox no matter the length at a reasonable price on their website. The Sultry Spice is a pretty fresh scent that both men and women will like. Recommended for those who like fresh natural hair. Not recommended for those who have their waves chemically straightened or who want a straight look. Diana Faillace Von Behren "reneofc"
