Pros: spooky with laughs mixed in

Cons: none

The Bottom Line: Spooky and Funny rolled into one.

Is the only way I can think of to describe the Haunted Mansion. I have been going to the Haunted Mansion since before I was old enough to remember. I never remember being "scared" by it but it is spooky with a mix of funny.

You start out walking up a path to the "mansion" that winds through a graveyard, with humorous, rhyming gravestones (and if I told you what they said it would ruin the fun). You then proceed inside the house where you are lead into a room where you are "welcomed". The ride itself is like a moving chair that seats 2 (3 if one is a small child). You get a moving tour with narration of the mansion. From dancing ghouls, to hitchhiking ghouls. The entire ride is in the dark except for lighting from the animation and displays. There are 99 grim grinning ghosts but there is room for 1 more.

There is no height or age limit on this ride and the youngest children are not usually afraid of it. As they get older and know what "ghosts" but are not old enough to not be afraid they may be spooked. My daughters were not afraid from about 4 months old through 4 years, at 4 she was spooked but fine as long as she was with someone. If your child is afriad of the dark, however, you may want to bypass this ride or have someone stay with the child. The entire ride is mostly dark except for the displays, etc. However in the beginning before you get on teh ride there is a time when it is pitch black.

Though the ride is meant to be scary it is not gruesome, there are no ax murderers, people with chainsaws, etc. It is not like a halloween haunted house. It is more depicting what the makers believe to be a real haunted house. A place where "ghosts" live.

I love the ride (though you will see from my opinions, I don't not "love" anything about disney) and so do my children (age 1 and 4). All in all it gets the spooky effect while still throwing in some laughs and not giving anyone a heart attack. Definitely worth riding.

doombuggie awaits consequence can be killer without facing fears This haiku from the Mouse of Zen is very appropriate and timely considering several new additions and enhancements recently appearing at the Haunted Mansion. For example, the current "soft opening" and soon official unveiling of the optional interactive queue option outside the Haunted Mansion. In addition, the enhanced animatronic Hitchhiking Ghosts Animatronics return at WDW.      Doombuggie …

Disney has some very big classics and no ride is more classic Disney then The Haunted Mansion. Recently refurbished and better then ever with new segments, updated audio and many new animatronics. It has never been as great and "spooky" then ever before! The new Haunted Mansion features several new scenes as well as updated scenes from your favorite ride. The Bride now has a face and voice which brings more information to the story of the ride. Plus new upside down stairs and an updated …

Another classic attraction that can't visited enough. And this recent upgrade really spruced up the details.

The Haunted Mansion has become one of our familiies must do's at The Magic Kingdom.  For someone who actually does not like haunted houses, I can honestly say - I love this ride.   I love the Gotchic architecture of the house and appreciate how authentic it is.  The "Grim Grinning Ghosts" theme song, which was written by a former Disney imagineer, entertains you as you make your way through the mansion.  The dining room scene is fabulous and we always spot …

Pros: fun for the whole family! Great Special Effects! Air Conditioning!     Cons: Long Lines, Little Kids beware     Next weekend, my best friend (Dionne25) and I are heading down to Orlando. Since my father is a Disney Employee, I get in for free. I have been to Disney on many occasions, and the Haunted Mansion remains one of my favorite rides there.      The lines for the Haunted Mansion are usually long, but the 20 minute ride is definitely …
