yeah, I take acid...

Pros: builds muscle faster, replenishes muscle for faster recovery

Cons: somewhat expensive

The Bottom Line: For those looking to obtain great body mass, this is a must have product.

I have been an active duty Air Force Unit Fitness Program Manager for quite some time now. During that time, I have been through numerous classes on a variety of different aspects of health, from smoking, to weight loss, to fad diets, to circuit/weight training, and virtually every other topic you could imagine.

As a UFPM, I am directly responsible for the management of the health and fitness for upwards of 800 personnel at any given period of time. This means that I administer all fitness testing, I counsel those that are having weight issues, and I aid in training those that desire the added assistance in obtaining muscle mass, losing weight, or whatever their goals are. Essentially, I am a personal trainer for the military.

This job of course is much different in the military however, than it would be in the civilian world. In the military world, we have to have a certain weight, and meet specific standards, whereas civilians are guided by their own desires. This means that in order for personnel to keep their jobs, I have to be on top of all of the best supplements, training guides, equipment, and methods of training that will yield the best results for each individual user's goals.

Throughout my time as a UFPM, I have tried so many different products myself, read about a large number of products, attended classes, and seen the direct results of members that have used these products. I know what works, what doesn't work, and what you have to do to make these products work.

Twinlab Amino Fuel Liquid
Amino acids are generally used by those that are really into bodybuilding. Essentially if you are working out on a regular basis, and you need a little extra push, you may need to consider taking supplements such as creatine, protein, and of course amino acids. These items are all involved in strength and muscle development within the body. Amino acids are naturally occurring within your own body, so there's no real risk in taking this product, because of that.

The idea is that by taking in additional amino acids you will see improvements in strength and performance. Amino acids are also said to help speed muscle recovery after workouts.

I have been using supplements such as Amino Acids for the last 2-3 years. I have been using them as a means of providing the needed nutrition to feed my muscles and ensure that I'm getting the best possible growth out of each workout. During the time that I have been taking the Amino Acids, I have noticed that my body recovers much faster from workouts than it did prior to taking the product. I find that I can workout more frequently if I wanted to, as my muscles are capable of a faster turnaround than they would have been before.

I also found that my overall bulk has increased, but it is impossible to really know if it was caused by the amino acids, the other supplements, or a combination of all of them, or even just my workout in general without the assistance of anything else. However, since I have started taking this product, I have had much better muscle development than I ever had prior to taking it.

The biggest and most noticeable result however is the recovery. I run quite frequently and I find that my leg muscles are often sore after my longer 10-20 mile runs. By taking this right after running, I find that my legs aren't quite as sore the next day and are capable of withstanding another long run day after day. Without taking this, I find that I need more recovery time sometimes taking off several days between longer runs in order to fully recover.

As a suggestion, I would say that unless you are working out on a regular basis, or lifting weight to really gain muscle, this product isn't going to have a lot of effect. This is definitely something that you only need if you are truly do enough exercise to warrant it, otherwise you are wasting your money. I would say however, that you should also consider it if you are training for sports, regardless of whether or not you are lifting weights. Just running up and down a court over and over for basketball practice is reason enough to need muscle replenishment.

I'm not really sure how to describe the taste, but it definitely isn't the most pleasant in the world. I would say it has a syrup consistency to it, but slightly easier to swallow. I generally drink it with water, take a sip of the liquid, then drink some water. I have found this is really the best way to do it, because it just doesn't go down too well. I really don't have anything to compare the flavor to. It's a bit on the sweet side, but somewhat bland. It's interesting, but definitely not a flavor that you are going to be craving.

Anabolic Liquid Amino Acid Concentrate Amino Fuel with L-Carnitine & Branched Chain Amino Acids
15 grams (15,000 mg) per serving.
Fast Acting! Easily Digested!

No whole undigested protein concentrates or protein isolates are present, such as calcium and potassium caseinates, or whey, egg and soy isolates.

The amino acids in Amino Fuel are of the highest quality available and derived only from the natural enzymatic hydrolysis of whole proteins. Absolutely no acid or alkaline hydrolyzed proteins are present. Acid and alkaline hydrolysis of proteins can destroy amino acids and also generate toxic by-products.

No added artificial sweeteners. No soy, yeast or wheat products. No artificial colors or flavors.
Amino Fuel Anabolic Liquid Amino Acid concentrate has been especially designed for the serious bodybuilder and competitive power lifter. It can also be of enormous value to strength and endurance athletes as well.

Amino Fuel is a fast acting and easily digested source of L-carnitine, branched chain amino acids (L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine) and pharmaceutical grade, peptide-bonded and free amino acids. Amino Fuel also contains stress B-complex vitamins and lipotropic factors (fat metabolizers) choline and insitol, plus a rich source of energizing complex carbohydrates from grains and pure crystalline fructose.

Carbohydrates spare protein in the body. They help keep nitrogen levels high and assist in the body's utilization of amino acids in building muscle protein. B-complex vitamins function as metabolic activators and enhance amino acid, carbohydrate and energy metabolism.

Each serving provides a concentrated 15 grams (15,000 mg) of high quality, peptide-bonded and free amino acids derived from the natural pancreatic digest of whey protein (lactalbumin), egg protein (albumin), liver protein and other animal proteins. One serving of Amino Fuel is equivalent to (15) one gram, peptide-bonded, free amino acid tablets or capsules.

Amino Fuel peptide-bonded amino acids are protein in its most easily digested, absorbable and utilizable form. And that means easy assimilation and utilization by hungry, hard-working muscles. When taken orally as a dietary supplement, peptide-bonded amino acids (derived from pancreatic digests of protein) increase nitrogen retention sixteen times more than that of crystalline free form amino acid mixtures (Smith et al. 1982)
