Exciting from beginning to end

The plot of this book barrels along so quickly that the reader just wants to keep turning the pages to find out what's going to happen next. There are, in the beginning, three plot lines which eventually converge. The first concerns an imprisoned former police detective, who could be characterized as an "anti-hero". He does a lot of really bad things, but he feels they are for a good purpose. The second plot line involves his former partner, now a detective in Vermont, where the former prisoner goes after his release from prison. The last plot line involves an 18 year old girl who is kidnaped by sex traffickers.

Eventually all the lines come together at a casino in Vermont run by some rather shady folks, most of them friends of the former prisoner. There are some really bad guys involved also, and there is a lot of mayhem and bloodshed. For a first time author this is an excellent book, and I can hardly wait to read his next offering!
