This is my second Western Digital USB hard drive. I am using it as a backup device for my Mac. Operation is quiet easy like any other USB drives,ie plug n play. One good thing about it is that It doesn't require power supply, gets the power via USB cable once its connected to the computer. If you are the type of person who forgets mobile charger very often while traveling, then you will like this feature.
To make it work with Mac's Time Machine, I had to format the drive with Mac OS file system. After that It has been working perfectly for me for more than 6 months now. They are connected to my machine most of the time, and noise has never been a problem too.
Over all, they are the best deals that I have seen at the moment. 80 bucks for 320G of storage!! Though they are not the fastest drives, but (at that price) they works best for my backup purpose.
