Pros: Good for a quick bite.

Cons: Not very diet friendly friendly.

The Bottom Line: Would only recommend once or twice a year. For convenience and cleaning your system out. Also for some thing different.

Every one needs to cleanse their system at least once a year. Be it their body or the septic system. Both need doing. What is good for the soul is good for all other things. Every time that my wife gets sent home from work early I have a feeling that she is going to stop at White Castle's and get those flavorable little colon cleaners. Remember this is just my opinion and your body may act differently when eating these. They don't call this fast food for nothing.

We don't dare try these more than a couple times a year. When we were younger we could put away 10 of these at one one time. A couple of reasons for that, is that we could burn it off a lot quicker and they were also a lot cheaper. Plus our colon could handle a lot of different stuff when you are younger. Be it, hot and spicy, or just plain greasy.

They do have a nice looking restaurant. The modern day stores are very nice, but I prefer the older style store to the new ones. It is more pleasing to the eyes. Remember those older stores that actually look like a castle, now that was a store. Where grace and speed was of the escence. Now they don't seem to really care that much. The times that we stop there were usually not far from home, because you will find out what is about to happen. Not soon after you finish your meal guess what? Where's the John get out of my way.!!! Since you would have to use the wash room they do keep it pretty well stocked and clean. The stores are usually clean accept when it is a rush hour and they don't have time to get out and clean the dining room up.

Well, when she comes home she knows that I just adore their fries so she always brings me a sack of them. Then we also have some chicken sandwiches, and a couple of double cheeseburgers. Then there is that ever famous vanilla shake to wash all of this down with. This is still not a very cheap as it was years ago. This little bit usually costs around $20.00 for the both of us.

Now if you are on a diet you may as well throw that out the window, because there are a lot of fat grams and calories in this meal. I will give you some numbers so you can see. For this one meal the 1 chicken sandwich has 200 calories and 90 fat grams, 1 double cheeseburger has 300 calories and 150 fat grams, 1 sack of fries has 700 calories and 310 fat grams, ! 6 piece chicken ring has 340 calories and 210 fat grams, and 1 large vanilla shake has 680 calories and 80 fat grams. That is a total of 2220 calories and 840 fat grams just for midnight snack. There goes your whole diet in just one serving.

Don't get me wrong their food is delicious, but not very diet sound. As far as I know there are not many of these stores in the southern states, so they have to rely on finding these at the local supermarket. The store will usually only sell them by the box then you can either reheat them in the microwave or conventional oven. To reheat in microwave just put them is for 15-20 seconds per sandwich. If you wish to use the regular oven, well of course it will take a lot longer and you will need to set your oven at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Just in case you have never had the delight of eating your meal and then running to the John for a full day afterwards. This is what these are made of. They have what they call an all 100 percent beef patty with 5 holes evenly spaced in it. This way they don't have to flip them to cook them. The steam will rise through the holes and cook the other side. Then they throw some onions on top and the steam will cook this all together. They throw this on a soft baked steamed bun and throw a dill pickle in the center of the patty. At least they try and make it in the center. This is what they call a slyder. After you eat your first you will see why they call it this. They do not wrap in any paper they just put in a box then in a bag. All of this is very good for the land fills.

Since we have several of these located in the close vicinity of us. We can stop in when ever we want to. They are usually open 24 hours and 364 days a year. I am not sure which holiday they are closed but it is only one. They also like to entertain the idea that they can cover all the basis and try to sell all kinds of merchandise such as; anything from mugs, to men's and women's t-shirts, sweatshirts, boxers, ornaments, gift cards , and even cook books.

If you are wondering what else they have to eat here is just a sample of what they have at your local White Castle; Hamburger, cheeseburger, Double cheeseburger, Jalapeno sandwich, bacon cheeseburger, chicken and fish sandwich, french fries, chicken rings, cheese sticks, onion chips, onion rings, plus a sack of 30 or 10. There is a lot more that they have even soft drinks and shakes. To much to list. I was just showing you that there is more that what we had ordered. As usual they have joined the crowd and they have what they call Value meals. This is where they combine every thing together and all you have to do is tell them a number and they will know what you want. One of these they will do like Mcdonald's did and invade the coffee market and try to be a little like Starbucks. Then we could not call it fast food any more.

There is something about these, that you know how they treat your system, yet we all have to come back for more. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7 . But, you really need to experience this just once to see for yourself. You will see what it is to feel that rumbling deep down in your system then hearing that ever pleasant roar and echo in the deep confines of your private reading room. After you leave the room smelling ever so nice, your dog will look at you in disgust as if to say what did you do to my porcelain water bowl?

A meal fit for a third class King
I've been to one White Castle twice in Michigan.  My first visit was nice but the second, not so much.  While I have a "craving" to find another one of these hamburger havens and not opting for the store bought versions, I can also wait since I remember my visits.      White Caslte is famous for "buying them by the sackful" small little hamburgers about the size of a golfball but will leave a grease stain the size of a basketball if you threw …

Mmm, I don't eat here very often but when I do I always get a couple of double White Castles (add ketchup!) Great late-night snack

I've been to one twice and it smells better outside then the food tastes inside. Must be an aquired taste those little burgers.
