The Bottom Line: Not for beginners, but will look great with just a little practice. Start early and you'll have a great end result.
This cake pan (and the others made by Wilton, I have quite a few) is designed to make creating a designer cake easy for even the most pathetic baker (which also describes me perfectly). The designs are always true to character, and the Powerpuff Girls cake pan is no exception. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup all look exactly as they should.
I do have a few suggestions, however, which Wilton fails to mention. First, either spray the pan with non-stick spray or flour it first. If you don't cook the cake with absolute precision timing, it will stick in certain spots. At least if it is oiled or floured the cake comes out easier. Second, do not attempt to create this cake the day before (or of) the party you need it for. I recommend buying it a month or two in advance and taking a couple of test runs with baking and frosting it. It isn't easy to do. Third, don't try this if you've never tried to make a character cake before. The Powerpuff Girls are just a bit too intricate for this to be an easy cake. I've made about a dozen other styles and this was by far the most difficult because of all the colors that are needed when frosting it. If you're not sure you're up for it, stick with cupcakes.
I can't complain about the actual pan, although I do wish Wilton sent out more instructions and suggestions with the styles. Not for the first time baker or decorator, but easy enough for someone with just a little practice. Excellent addition to a kids party.
