Pros: Well built and inexpensive.

Cons: You might overload this if you are not careful.

The Bottom Line: This will well in your home and I highly recommend.

I have several variety of length and sizes of these inside of my shop and throughout my shop. You can find these at any home improvement or dollar store for anywhere from 2 dollars to six dollars. Each of these has a combined capability of being able to plug 6 different appliances in at one time. These are rated for 15 amps and will be allowed to plug into any household outlet. The attached cord is only 3 feet in length; I usually prefer to have the ones with a twelve foot cord so that you can plug them in without using any additional extension cords. But, if you have to use an extension cord, then this is the way to go.

I do a lot of handy work around the house plus a lot of dog grooming, therefore these short ones come in very handy to prevent me from continually unplugging and plugging items in. This particular strip has an on/off switch and an overload protector. The power switch is illuminated to an amber or orange what ever you want to call it, when it is energized. This is not made for the use to protect a computer from power surges, but I have used it for that in a pinch. This power surge protector is a little bit different for your computer, I usually use these type for all of my electric hand tools such as my table or circular saws, drills, drop lights, etc. basically nothing that is permanent.  These are what I call tools on the go.

You will usually never have to worry about blowing the circuit breaker that is located on the side of this unit, because this will only usually blow if you use all five outlets at once.  It is almost impossible to use all of them at once and drain all 15 amps of power in one second.  These are usually very durable and can withstand some abuse. I have dropped things on top of this, and stepped on them, and even submerged them underwater, and once they dried out they still worked. You are usually only running one or two things at one the rest of the tools just remain at the ready until you want to use them.

This grounded unit will do just about anything that you want it to an extent, as usual once you abuse your privilege then it will halt any operations that you might be doing. This will protect you from any shock since it will be grounded if you should get of course remove and replace this at once. They do make different sizes and shapes that you can purchase, I can highly recommend using in your home or shop.
