I used to love bumGenius

If I had written this review when I first started cloth diapering my son when he was a newborn I would have raved about how much I loved them. I did love them. Now I don't.

There are some positives and negatives to these diapers.

Pros

- Trim fit, not bulky under clothing
- Absorbent. I hardly ever have leaks, if I do it's overnight and my son was wearing the diaper too long.

Cons

- The velcro. My son is 8 months old, I've had these diapers since he was born. 8 months isn't that long yet the velcro barely works anymore. It does not stick to the laundry tabs at all, so I constantly have a "diaper chain" (diapers stuck to each other) which makes some diapers pilly and not so pretty.

- The microfiber inserts get kind of stiff after a lot of use. They aren't soft and fluffly like some of the other inserts that I have had for the same amount of time.

I have tried a LOT of cloth diapers. I have a lot of diapers with velcro that is still in perfect condition, even after many uses and washes. For almost $18 I expect better quality. I know a lot of mamas out there really love bumGenius, but unfortunately I am not one of them, which sucks because I really want to love them!

Excellent for Short Distances, but fails in the long run

Shortly after I switched to cloth diapers with my daughter, I wanted to try out a few different brands. Not your mother's cloth diapers

bumGenius one size cloth diapers were the first diapers that I began using with my son. When I first started using them I was in love. They are just as easy as disposables but much more eco-friendly.
