Excellent for Short Distances, but fails in the long run

Shortly after I switched to cloth diapers with my daughter, I wanted to try out a few different brands. I found the Bumgenius 3.0s and was thrilled because I loved the idea of an All-in-one diaper, and they came in very fun colors.

We really lucked out and purchased 4 diapers on a clearance sale. They worked AMAZING. I LOVED them. They were very easy to use; fit my daughter well (she's very petite and it's hard to find items that are trim enough for her), simple washing. With all of her "messes" none of the diapers ever stained (wish I could say that for the other brands we use).

So for the first 4 months I was THRILLED. The only draw backs I could find were:
-They are a sized diaper. I knew when my daughter grew, I'd have to buy more diapers
-I had to have a completely new diaper every diaper change instead of just an insert that lays in a shell.

But overall the pros Far outweighed the cons.

And then time passed and I began to not be so impressed. My daughter gained 3 lbs and grew 1 inch. That was ALL; and then the diapers started to leak. Apparently the leg gussets were no longer staying next to her thighs and the diaper was bunching between her legs--thus allowing for leaks.

The Velcro also became a problem. The ends started to roll, and fray slightly on the ends. I would secure the velcro to the laundry tab before each and every wash; but every time I took them out of the washer, they had un-attached themselves from the laundry tabs and were attached to another diaper, causing fraying and fiber damage to the other diapers.

That all being said: my overall opinion is that these diapers are amazing for short term use. I loved them in the beginning. But if you want a diaper that will last through multiple children; or even last through just the ONE child..I'd look to a different diaper. Not necessarily different Brand (I've heard a lot of good reviews about the 4.0) just a different version of a diaper.

Great review! What a bummer that these had you really excited in the beginning, just to end up disappointing you. Have you read @'s review of these diapers? You ladies seem to agree, so I won't be recommending these to anyone. Thanks for sharing!

If I had written this review when I first started cloth diapering my son when he was a newborn I would have raved about how much I loved them. I did love them. Now I don't.      There are some positives and negatives to these diapers.      Pros      - Trim fit, not bulky under clothing   - Absorbent. I hardly ever have leaks, if I do it's overnight and my son was wearing the diaper too long.   …

bumGenius one size cloth diapers were the first diapers that I began using with my son. When I first started using them I was in love. They are just as easy as disposables but much more eco-friendly. I still love them, but now that I have experienced all different types of diapers I have my preferences.       Pros      - As easy to use as disposables. Just stuff the inserts in and put on baby. To wash you just have to take the insert out and throw …
