I've only been here once, but this place is on my list of favorite restaurants now. It's that good.
We had couple soups (tomato bisque and the sausage barley) and the were no joke the best soups i've ever had. I can't even think what might be a close second. After the soups we had salad and sandwiches. All great.
This place was so good i had to start grilling the servers on the whole story. Basically, the owner Cristina, is the driving force behind the quality here. She has no formal training, but grew up on a large Tuscan farm outside of Florence. It's there that she learned her craft... and she suffers for it. She hasn't taken a day off in 10 years. I tried to get them to put me in touch with her so that I could convince her to open a place in Manhattan Beach, but they just laughed at me and said that EVERYONE tries to do that, but she's such a perfectionist there is no way she could do it.
They do a lot of catering for events like the big Allen & Co conference every year and a bunch of weddings. They have baked goods which looked amazing but we didn't try any.
Oh yeah... the coffee that it took to go, could have been the best cup of coffee i've ever had too.
Sun Valley was playing second fiddle to Jackson Hole after visiting both, but Cristina's really closed the gap and both are now neck and neck. That's the sign of some great food.
I can't wait to go back and it's a must visit for anyone passing through Sun Valley.
