Jones'n for one 10 years later

It's been almost 10 years since I had the pleasure to sink my teeth into one of the most delicious burgers I've ever tasted. Most people think the best burgers are made in hole in the wall diners or some bar and grill or steakhouse. I was of this mindset myself. As a born and raised east coaster I had never heard of this chain untill I moved to SoCal durring college. There happened to be one down the street and the line was always out the parking lot. The first time I went in I was impressed to see actual potatoes being turned into fries right befor me and patties being pressed fresh. I thought to myself, "This is fast food?" where's the precooked and frozen mystery meat and the industrial size bag of fries and pressed chicken nuggets that really don't look like anything identifiable by modern science? I studied the menu while I waited in line and looked around and felt like I stepped back to the 50's when burger joints made real food and actually served you. When it was my turn to step to the counter I ordered a standard cheese burger, fries and a coke. I figured that was safe. I watched as the kids behind the grill slaped out some ground beef while his co worker chucked whole potatoes in this large stanless steel slicer and with all his effort pushed the spud into shoe string fries. They brought me my food in short order. The service already impressed me, lets see if  the food is as good. I took my first bite and my tastebuds went nuts.  I've eaten more hamburgers then I can remember. Every typical fast food chain, great open grill, home cooked, family recipe burgers. Steakhouse, ball park, fine resturantes, With special sauce, BBQ bacon, ultimate, the works seasoned steak burgers. You name it I've tried it. This typical burger blew my mind. Flavor I had never tasted. It was the perfect amount of greasy with out being too much, It was fresh, like off the cow fresh. Not over cooked. In fact it tasted like it never hit a grill. Just perfect flavor the whole way through. The fries were just as good. Like fresh homemade hash browns on sunday morrning. Simply perfect. I couldn't get enough of this stuff. For a week straight I would stop there for lunch. Some time later some friends intoduced me to the seceret menu. I got a Double Double animal style and to think it couldn't get any better, it just did. I was like a junky looking for my next fix. Since then I compare every burger to that. To my disapointment I have not found one that equals or surpasses the In-N-Out burger. Regreatfuly I moved back east some time ago and have not been able to feed my craving for my favorite burger in many years. to this day I'll recommend In-N-Out to friends and family that travle to CA. And I get the same responce every time. "That was one of the best burgers I've ever had."

Mmmmm, I love In-N-Out, too!  It got Eric Schlosser's stamp of approval in Fast Food Nation.  Next time you're there, you gotta try their fries animal style, and their neopolitan shake! :)

It's always nice bumping into East Coasters at In-N-Outs as they always seem to be in awe of the burgers and flavors. I miss living in Maryland sometimes but I have to say, In-N-Out is one of the many reasons I love California! I think it pretty much sums up California culture in a single, half-acre lot: cars, good food, and lots of outdoor seating.

I Could Eat A #2 Everyday For the Rest of My Life!
If you need to know the definition of perfection, going to In N Out would be a good place to start. I have never had a bad experience at this "fast food chain, everytime I eat here it's "the best burger I've ever had," not to mention, the price is right!      I think In N Out's success can be attributed to a few key qualities of the chain:       1. It's privateley owned, allowing them to keep a careful eye on every location …

This review was written because today my boyfriend and I went to In-N-Out. So what is the significance of that? Well, I freakin' LOVE In-N-Out burgers! I'm very partial to fast food in general; always picky after watching the documentary Super Size Me ... but I just can't get over how delicious this fast food chain actually is. And honestly, I'm not very fond of hamburgers; so usually when I do have to go to some fast food place I always order the wraps or something else.     The …

You come here for burgers people.
In N Out was something I grew up around and never fully experienced.  It would be sometime before I would get to try one again and when I did I wondered where those lost meal opportunities went toward?      Best burger on the planet?  Could just be.  Lets see...McDonalds and White Castle?  Don't make me gut laugh!  Hardee's and Burger King?  No way.  Every town has it's own good local burger chain but nope sorry not even those.  …

It is not an overstatement to say that In 'n' Out burger has achieved So Cal icon status.   In 'n' Out recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and they haven't aged a bit!  Same delicious food and great service that I remember getting back in the '70s and same great value for your money!   The first place I think of to take a recently-arrived-in-L.A. foreigner (especially those that hail from Japan) is In 'n' Out.  Why?  Because …
