My wife and I ate here recently and we loved it. The ambiance is great with a lot of candles, small tables, flowing white drapes. The food was delicious and well above my palate i think. What I mean by that, is that i don't feel like my tastes are refined enough to really appreciate how good it was. I had the Loup de Mer and the grapefruit and fennel salad. All very fresh and super tasty. Susan had the lobster gnocchi... she couldn't stop raving about how great those little pillows were.
I highly recommend for a romantic special occasion.
Negatives: Price. You are going to drop some cash going here. I think it's the most expensive restaurant in the Southbay. No corkage: They don't let you cork wine so you are limited to their list which is a nice collection of all Italian wine, so be prepared to try something new and pay up for it.
Fantastic food, cozy atmosphere and ambiance that belies the immediate area of town, good wine list, very pricey. Can get hot if they don't have the windows open. The cheese plate is a specialty of the house and worth it. The best special occasion spot in the South Bay, IMO.
On a fine dining scale, it's probably one of the nicest restaurants in the southbay and definitely the most expensive. Good for celebrity sightings too (I saw Morgan Freeman there and Matthew McConaughey frequents) Be prepared to spend some cash there
