Mimi's Cafe, commonly referred to as "Mimi's," is a French-style restaurant chain in the United States that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurants themselves belong to Bob Evans Farms, Inc, and are based in California. Each location has several themed dining rooms, inculding winery-style, bistro, garden, cafe, and patio rooms.
The first Mimi's was opened in 1978 in Anaheim, CA by Arthur J. Simms (head commissary at MGM Studios of the 1950's) and his son Thomas Simms. Other partners included Brian Taylor and Paul Kurz. The restaurant chain was purchased in 2004 by Bob Evans Farms, Inc for nearly $200 million and by 2008 operated 138 Mimi's locations in 22 states. Today, it is headquartered (with Bob Evans Farms, Inc) in Columbus, Ohio and employs over 51,000 workers.
