How interesting is that? It actually tasted more like mango with bits of salt in it soaking in olive oil. I loved this. So good!
Crispy Rice & Spicy Tuna
Pan fried crispy sushi rice topped with spicy tuna and Serrano chilies. Prior to dining here, @jrjohnson
had recommended this. I loved it! Crispy pan fried rice is one of my favorite snacks to eat when I'm in China, and adding spicy tuna on top is just the icing on the cake. Might just have to add this to my maguro review
Black Tiger Prawn Tempura
Tempura battered black tiger prawns mixed in a wasabi aioli sauce served on a baby frieze salad. Reminded me of honey walnut prawns that you can get at Chinese restaurants, except its got a kick of wasabi in it! Mmmmm...
Lobster Fried Rice
Maine Lobster served in a “toban” pot with cucumber, tomato, shitake mushrooms and Indian spices. The lobster shell is just decoration as the lobster meat has been pulled and shredded for us :D
Kobe Steak Toban Yaki
Grilled Kobe filet mignon, sautéed spinach, grilled potato, served with teriyaki truffle butter sauce. The sauce was delicious. So were the veggies.
Dessert Bento Box
Tofu cheesecake, chocolate lava cake, donut holes and mochi ice cream. This is the only part of the entire meal that was mediocre. We all tried to share the donut holes, but we couldn't tear them apart. Not a good sign for donut holes! I love the concept of this dessert though.
If you're ever in Manhattan Beach, definitely dine at Sashi if you get the chance. I'd come back again in a heartbeat! Nothing beats delicious food and wine with great service in such a lovely restaurant. Having good company doesn't hurt either ;)
