When you are bored and find yourself looking for a place to go for the night then the Westin Indianapolis in Indiana and have dinner at Shula's. You will be thrown aback by all of his achievements that he has made throughout his life, and what a steakhouse he has built. This is the house that anyone would love to visit.

What a sports enthusiasts dream, to go into a place of this elegance and have visions of possibly meeting one of the greatest coaches of all time. Instead you meet one of the best qualified restaurant managers which have a lot of respect, to make sure that her patrons have the best that they have to offer. There are just about thirty Shula's restaurants located across the United States and they strive to give you the best dining experience that you have ever had. Nicole Biddle is the manager at the Shula's located on the second floor of the Westin Indianapolis Hotel in Indiana. This is just about three hours south of Chicago. The whole crew is exceptionally talented when it comes to knowing what to do for your dining experience.  This particular Shula's is open from 6 am. until 11 pm. serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

From Nicole Biddle (has nothing but the best intentions of the patrons interest are the first and foremost  in her heart) and Josh the managers, to Kevin,  Jonathon and Henry, Cristi and Carli the waiters and waitresses, will do an exemplary job of trying to make your experience with them the best that you have ever had. Let us not forget those smiling and pleasant hostesses Stacey, Casey, Mitzi and Charlotte.  From the time that you enter until you leave this establishment, if you are a sports enthusiast or not, you cannot help but be impressed by the cleanliness and service that you will receive during your stay. The first thing that we noticed is that all of the staff was properly dressed and this was an above casual place to have dinner. You are not crammed into a booth or sat at a table that is right on top of the table next to you, throughout the whole restaurant you will notice that there is enough room to move around and not have to listen to the couple next to you talking. The music and décor is light and pleasing to the eyes and ears.

What's On The Menu
The breakfast and lunch menus are a little smaller than the dinner menu. If  you are going there for dinner you can start out with an appetizer and or soups or salads which include; Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, French Onion Soup, Flash Fried Lobster Soup, Blackened Tenderloin Tips, Barbecued Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, Lobster Bisque, Chilled ½ Maine Lobster, Shrimp Cocktail. The salads include; The Wedge, Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella Chop Salad, Beefsteak Tomato and Gorgonzola Salad, and what I really like most of all is the Caesar Salad.

The Shula cut steaks are the best that you will ever taste and these include; Steak Mary Anne, 12 oz. Filet Mignon, 16 oz. New York Strip, 32 oz. Prime Rib, 24 oz. Porterhouse, 48 oz. Porterhouse, 22 oz. Cowboy Steak, and 20 oz. Kansas Strip Steak. All of which will be brought to you on a rolling cart so that you can see exactly what you will be ordering. There are other entrees that you can order instead of the traditional steak dinner and these include; French Cut Chicken Breast, Florida Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Salmon, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Twin Cold Water Lobster tails, Surf and Turf, 3 to 4 pound Maine Lobster, Lamb Loin Chops, and 16 and 24 oz. Prime Rib Au Jus.

All of these items come separately and this also means that you will have to order your sides on the side, these are the choices that you have to choose from; Sautéed  Mushrooms, Asparagus steamed or grilled, Steamed Broccoli both of which come with Hollandaise Sauce, Spinach Creamed or Sautéed, Crab Mac and Cheese, Jumbo Baked Potato, Hashbrown Potatoes, Steak Fries, Double Baked Potato, Lobster Mashed Potatoes.

For dessert you have nine choices to pick from, but two of them you have to order before your dinner because they take ½ an hour to bake and they are the Chocolate Soufflé and the Molten Lava Chocolate cake.  Your other choices include; Haagen-Dazs Sorbet, Chocolate Seven Layer Cake, Crème Brulee, Key Lime Pie, the ever popular Cheese Cake, Apple Cobbler, Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream.

Experience
When you are being taken care of by Nicole Biddle, you know that she will see to it that you are treated like a king or queen. If you were to have a bad time, she would just jump into her office and don her superwoman suit and fly out of her office and kick some royal butt to make sure that you are treated right and be served properly. When you are seated at your table you will not get a bad table, ours had a beautiful view of the capitol building, and when we sat down they also had a autographed football with all of the Shula cut steaks listed on the side of the football. This was the first time that I had ever seen this. I don't know what made my mouth water more the autographed football or the delicious steaks that they had to offer.

If you go to Shula's you should have at least $100, and that is not a bad price for this five star restaurant. We ordered the 24 oz. Porterhouse done with just a touch of pink in the middle and a baked potato. While we were waiting we were served a large Caesar salad large enough to split, as a matter a fact the whole dinner can be split, because even the baked potato is about one pound in size. Everything was served properly and we had three servers waiting on us at once. I have never seen anything like this before, each one of them had a different job. We are non-drinkers, so we only ordered coffee and water and lemon. They do have alcoholic beverages for you to order.

They served us in a timely fashion, and as politely as you could have expected them to act in a place as elegant as this. When the dinner came, the steak was a golden brown on the outside and the inside was just a light shade of pink. Just the way that we expected it to be. Some places have a different meaning of the term medium when cooking a steak. But, at Shula's they make sure that it is done right the first time and if it is not then Nicole goes into action. The staff is expected to come and visit your table more than just once and even the manager Nicole came to our table and chatted with us for quite a while, proving to us as to how charming she really was. Even when josh was on duty he would come and check on all of his patrons to make sure that everything was okay.

Conclusion
By the end of the night, we left the place with a smile on our face and a new 8 x 10 autograph for my collection. There was an autographed football, but the price was a little steep for me. The football would look really nice along with my other signed footballs. When they said that this is a five star place to eat, I can vouch for that. You will not be unsatisfied with the food or service, at least not at this location. If you have a Shula's in your area, take a chance, surprise and treat your wife to an anniversary dinner, she will be very impressed with you, or just go out for a date night. This is a night that you will not forget. Thanks to Nicole and all of the staff at Shula's.
