Burrito affictionado claims this is the best vegetarian burrito he's ever had
Oct 6, 2010
Not all Green Burrito restaurants are the same according to the cook at the Green Burrito I went to. This one was at Cypress and Van Buren in Riverside, Ca. It's one of the originals. There are Green Burrito restaurant paired with Carl's Jr. in some places and they have a completely different formula.
This particular GB on Van Buren is a stand alone. The burrito was perhaps larger than a Campos if you've ever had one of those. It had no beans in it at all and though it had a lot of rice, it didn't seem like there was too much. Lots of vegetables in it. I didn't count all the ingredients but it had tons of flavor. They had lime slices in their salsa bar which I appreciate. I always squeeze them on my burrito with every bite. Their salsa was excellent as well. I only eat mild salsa. This one small stringy pieces of cooked onion in it. I rate this salsa up there at the top as well. I used it liberally.
Suffice it to say, this burrito is off the charts good. Beyond Chipotle by quite a distance.

Green Burrito is a chain of fast-food restaurants in the western United States. The chain, owned by CKE Restaurants, serves Mexican-style cuisine and is often found conjoined with Carl's Jr restaurants.
The company was started in Hawaiian Gardens, CA and was purchased in 1980 by Ruben Rodriguez who subsequently began to franchise the restaurant. By 2008 there were more than 300 Green Burrito restaurants, most of which are co-branded with Carl's Jr restaurants.
