My mom and I came here for my birthday... honestly, I came here not expecting that much; I used to see it on the way home from work sometimes, and it was just one of the closest sushi places near my house.
I have to say... when I read a review online about "melt-in-the-mouth excellent," all I could think was, "how can any sushi really melt in your mouth?" It's not like cotton candy or ice cream. Is it supposed to do that??
But then I took a bite of the Yoshida roll.
It totally melted in my mouth. In a good way. Four different kinds of raw fish rolled with mouthwatering crab meat. Best fresh sushi roll that's ever brushed my taste buds.
We had the vegetable gyoza (pot stickers) as an appetizer which was pretty good. We also ordered the 2026 roll or something... it was a tempura roll without rice. It was just okay.
Since it was my birthday, I decided to order a drink. I got the sparkling sake. Our waitress said "Oh yes, eet's veddy goo for rady," as she gestured to my mom. Yes, it was pink and flowery, but I enjoyed it!
Speaking of our waitress, she was very nice and patient. It was getting pretty busy. At first we thought it was just a small restaurant, but then we realized a bunch of people were coming in and disappearing somewhere. We discovered another side to the restaurant. It's pretty neat I think.
Only +4, not only because the tempura roll wasn't that great, but because they don't have a lot of variety of unique rolls. I usually look for that when I go to sushi restaurants. However, I will definitely be coming back.
