This is the best Bobby Short CD of all time, and maybe the best cassette of all time period. Yes, I said cassette. As if the music alone weren't reason enough to get it, the cassette itself, which I found in a thrift store, is bright pink! Fabulous. Listening to Bobby Short sing Cole Porter is like listening to Itzak Perlman playing a Stradivarius—it's hard to know who's better, the instrument or the player. Porter's lyrics are in a class by themselves and Short was just born to sing them. "World Weary" and "Poor Little Rich Girl" are real standouts on this, although there's not a clinker in the group.
