One of the most amazing ... yet obscure 'Super-Groups' in history
Mar 26, 2009
The Traveling Wilburys is one of those bands that kind of just "happened". Some say it was a "happy accident". Whatever the case may be, this band is one of the most amazing... yet obscure "Super Groups" in history. The funny thing is, these guys were just having fun and making music with their friends. It was never their intention to get lots of attention with these albums. In fact, they all used nicknames in the band to hide their true identities. Yes, many have heard of them and may have even heard a few songs by them on the radio... but a great many do not know of this great collaborative band. Some have heard of the band, but probably don't know who the band is made up of. The members of this band consists of the legends: Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and George Harrison. Yeah, you heard right! I think the problem was that up until recently, the music albums from this group were not available for sale. Now that the music is available to buy, I want to make sure that music fans out there know about this amazing group... and give them a listen. If you are a Roy Orbison fan, these albums are especially important because this was one of the last projects he worked on before he passed away. In fact, the Traveling Wilburys second album (although called Volume 3) is the one done after Roy's death. I believe that the song "New Blue Moon" is a touching dedication to Roy from his dear friends in the band.
So if you like any of the music from any of the individual band members of this "Super group", I urge you take a listen to the Traveling Wilburys. You won't be dissapointed.
