I was pleasantly surprised by this album. For one, it reminded me of the more 'happy' kind of music my old college roommate used to listen to (she was a Nick Cage, Bauhaus kind of gal).

After the first couple of songs, I kept thinking, "Jeez doesn't this kind of sort of remind me of..."

(And don't shoot me for comparisons)

Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine, but not as dark
Beck but not as bubbly
Tears for Fears but not as melancholic

When I hit the track entitled 'No Good' I swore I was about to be singing along with 'I Ran' by A Flock of Seagulls.

Through it all I had an overwhelming urge to listen to performances from American Idol season Eight...in particular Adam Lambert.

All this said, the music, the lyrics, and the vocals were all decent but nothing came across as 'new' to my ear. The familiarity of the sound is what kept me listening, however, and will definitely get me to listen again.
