Anyway, I respect the dignity and class which the Spurs carry themselves with too. Also, I try not to let my personal feelings get in the way of how I rate the teams. I rated the Lakers pretty high, even though I hate them. My very broken system of rating is based on a bunch of factors, like importance to the league, importance to the sport's history, how fun they are to watch, mythology and mystique, and a bunch of others. Like I said, it's a very broken system, and I'm trying to write these up with the objective of giving information to a proverbial fan who is only starting to get into the sport, not knowing anything about it, and looking for a team to adopt.
And I agree with you on Steve Nash. Everyone plays for the ring, and Nash kept getting his entrance to the Finals blocked when he was with Phoenix. Then his former team finally managed to win one of their own two years ago, so he's trying to do the same thing Payton and Malone tried in the 2004 season. Nash could do it, though. Los Angeles has Dwight Howard now, and Kobe still has a few years left.
I use to like the Lakers too, can't stand them now though but I'm starting to like them again slowly, what turned me was the bickering between Shaq and Kobe, which was more the fault of Shaq. If your team is winning, and winning a lot, then what are you complaining about? Who cares if so and so scores more, or makes a mistake here and there? You're still winning.
Nash should have jumped ship years ago, to be more specific, after they traded Shawn Marion in that deal for Shaq. That was the stupidest move the Suns could have made. Once I saw that I knew they were done and Nash's title hopes were down the drain in that organization. I'm just glad he finally realized that.
