Marvellously Outrageous

My review won't be very large for this show, as I've not followed it at any great length to comment on things such as character progression, particular episodes or series', but what I will comment on is the pure brilliance of being able to watch this at any time of day and begin watching in any type of mood and come out having loved every minute. This stands atop a pedestal as one of the greatest British sitcoms ever made and has the ability to appeal to viewers of any age. The characters of Patsy and Eddy are perfect and never fail to have me in tears of laughter at their ridiculous antics which simply involves getting through a normal day.

Joanna Lumley, though, is the star of the show. Being familiar with her history and her off screen personality, she would appear to be the last person that would consider playing the Patsy role. However, when she gets into the role, you come to the realisation that nobody; and I mean, nobody could play this better than Lumley. One of the main reasons I love this show is that it reminds me so much of my mother and her best friend when they go out to a party as they constantly sit with a cigarette and a glass of wine and talk absolute nonsense. Perhaps this is the appeal of the show in the respect that there is a character within that you can associate yourself with. Whether it be that you recognise one of your family members as being like one of the characters, or whether you see the similarities between you and Saffy for instance.

Either way, it's just a true marvel of British comedy and one that all cannot fail to enjoy.

This is such an amazing show, love everything about it. But you are absolutely right that you can begin to watch the show in any sort of mood but you will end up smiling.

Wow, you were speedy to post a review! Good for you. The community is still a newborn and it's already moving up some. I'm afraid to say that I'm not very familiar with this series as I've only seen a couple episodes, but both of them were hilarious. I'll have to catch up...
