I want a Slave One cake

Admittedly, I am smitten with Chef Duff.  And his sous-chef Geoff ... actually, the whole Charm City Cakes staff -- I am totally in crush with them.  They build crazy amazing cakes that I would feel guilty eating after witnessing how much care, detail goes with each construction.

Chef Duff started making the Food Network rounds on his appearances on Food Network Challenges and gained notoriety for his unconventional methods of cake construction.  Utilizing blow torches, mechanical do-dads to create these tall cake monstrosities of massive confectionery proportions.  Ace of Cakes follows his friends, ==> his staff of fellow bakers and cake-decorators as they try to fill in each week's order deadline.  There are mishaps:  the oven's broke; cake disaster [someone dropped it!]; getting details correct on the Millennium Falcon cake; traveling with a toppling cake in the back of a van.  It's one of the best Food Network reality shows.

Ha! -- You can marry Duff and I guess I will have to wrassle your BFF for Geoff. My crush on Chef Duff is waning but Geoff still reigns supreme ...

I LOVE Ace of Cakes. I want to marry Duff and my best friend wants to marry Geoff and have MaryAlice as our new bestie. Great review. :)

Yeah, his cakes do look spectacular visually, and he does some pretty impressive feats. My only complaint is that it seems like every cake he makes is covered with fondant, the taste of which I'm not a fan of. Fondant tastes how I imagine Play-Doh would taste. I'm an old-fashioned buttercream icing kinda girl.

If you’ve never seen the Ace of Cakes on the Food Network you are really missing out. Now I know when you think of the Food Network you aren’t thinking “hey there is a good reality show on there!” but you’d be wrong! The Ace of Cakes is one of the most fun reality shows I’ve seen in awhile. The show follows the crazy cake creations of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, Maryland. Now they don’t make just any cakes, they make cakes that don’t …
