About this tv show

Iron Chef America is a one hour cooking show depicting  two chefs in the ultimate food challenge. The viewer observes two competing chefs, along with their team of sous chefs, prepare a meal of at least five courses using a secret ingredient throughout. The narrator, Alton Brown, describes the dishes being prepared, mistakes and all. The camera pans in on each ingredient and step in preparation, flashing back on the process as the end product begins to emerge. Alton Brown narrates as the camera pans, guessing as to what the end dish will be as the viewer gets caught up in the pace and the momentary mystery.  As the clock counts down the viewer sees brief fires, ovens unheated and some profanity at the chefs try to be the best. The show culminates with the judging as the chefs explain their inspiration and each of the courses to the three guest judges.  It is fast paced, exciting and mouth watering.
