Has any other sitcom come close to being as funny as Seinfeld?

Just ask yourself one simple question: Has any other sitcom come close to being as funny as Seinfeld? You'd be pressed to think of any. The fact is, Seinfeld ranks as one of the best TV shows to have ever aired in the United States. And for good reason! The "show about nothing" depicted four self-centered individuals living in New York City and depicted their adventures and how they crossed paths with each other on a regular basis. Pure genius.

The show's topics, too, were as random as the characters. They ranged from encounters with a bubble boy to a smelly car to muffins. While the show hardly provides any satire or social commentary, as I particularly enjoy in Family Guy and The Simpsons, I still enjoy viewing the show from a sociological perspective. How does each main character manage to hold any friends despite being so self-centered and clueless as to society's norms? Every time I watch an episode, I ask myself "How is this so funny?" Despite having ended nearly a decade ago, I still sit down every night and catch an episode when I can. It's addicting and you just can't pass it up!

To me Seinfeld IS the best TV show ever. The unappreciated Scrubs comes closely in second place. I also enjoy Two and a Half Men, Family Guy and South Park. The Simpsons died an ugly death a long time ago. Both Scrubs and Two and a Half Men have a touch of Seinfeld in them. Too bad stupid "Reality Shows" and greedy corporate executives that care only about money and not quality, killed the sitcoms forever.

Seinfeld is famously The Show About Nothing. Now, what that means to me is that the characters are simply existing. We know very little about just who they are, what they do, and what they want. In the grand scheme of things, there's nothing, and so to me, that's why Seinfeld is The Show About Nothing.     Now, on the day to day basis, Seinfeld being about nothing was nothing more than a little marketing scheme for idiots or jaded 90's people. Each and every episode was not only …

For many, many years, I never really understood the gargantuan hype surrounding Seinfeld.  I don't think it's a terrible show, but I find most of the show to be lukewarm in its humor.      With that said, there were occasional moments of hilarity, such as this.            On a sidenote, Jason Alexander may be most famous as George Castanza in this show, but I found him much funnier as the title character in the cult cartoon …

Definitely the best sitcom of all time! Seasons 1 & 2 are funny, but it starts getting even better around season 3 +.
