More Americans Should be Watching this Show!

  • Apr 17, 2010
I absolutely adore What Not to Wear! First of all, its everything that I WISH I could say to fashion no-no's walking down the street. Secondly, it teaches those frumpsters how to take their bad decision and transform them into a personal style that helps put a little beauty back in America.

Lets face it, America has a bad rep for being frumpy, obese, and rude. What Not to Wear is tackling the first two of those problems! By taking the frumpy out of people's wardrobes, and teaching them how to dress for their size (whatever it may be) they're making people look FABULOUS regardless of their weight!

As a fashion major, I must say that I actually have benefitted and learned quite a bit particularly about how things should FIT when you try them on. Some helpful tips:
1) accentuate your waist-its the narrowest part of you and it will make you appear thinner!
2) a blazer's shoulder seam should match with your natural shoulder or it's too big!
3) high heels make your legs appear longer, therefore making you appear thinner!

Watch it, and pay attention! Or they could come for you next!

Also, check out my blog, based on transforming vintage finds into runway reminiscent outfits!

That is how I was first introduced to this somewhat snarky, albeit fabulous show.    Stacy London and Clinton Kelly begin each episode by springing on some unsuspecting victim and proceed to tell them in front of all their "friends" and loved ones, how awful they look. Sounds delightful doesn't it? But in this day and age we should be used to the draw of the reality show. We love to watch …
