Gran Turismo has been one of the cornerstone properties of Sony's Playstation game library.  Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is the latest release, exclusive for the Playstion 3.
The most striking aspect of this game are the visual graphics.  With each release of GT, the graphics undergo an exponential enhancement in detail -- this version is no exception.  The details in the cars and the tracks are incredible.  New to this version is a "from the cockpit" view where you are looking out from behind the wheel of the car.  This view adds much more realism to the game and does an excellent job of drawing the player into the experience.  Visually, this is very similar to the Xbox360's Project Gotham Racing (and I have to give a slight edge to PGR's windshield glare effect), but when combined with a solid Logitech Racing Wheel with force feedback, the GT5 experience is tough to beat.

Unfortunately, GT5: Prologue is not the game I'd hoped to be.  As the title implies, this is more of a "preview" rather than a full release.  The track and car lists are extremely limited compared to past releases, and while the new networked online racing is a welcome addition, it is missing essential options... such as racing against just your friends.

Overall, the game is excellent racing experience and will provide plenty of hours for you to hone your skills and get better at each track.  Just keep in mind that "Prologue" is in the title for a reason.

Brand new PS3 and a brand new PC. Gran Turismo bought for the PS3 and Grid for the PC. Which do I prefer to play, Grid. GT5 is an amazingly gorgeous game, the cars are beautiful, the setting between races are beautiful, the driving isn't too bad. Grid isn't as gorgeous, you're pretty much relegated to a garage to see the cars. But where Grid wins, the whole career aspect of racing to win dollars, sponsorship, and the ability to buy more cars (it's not terribly hard to get initial money). And Grid …

Review: I have mixed feelings on this game.      On one hand the graphics are incredible and some of the tracks are gorgeous with mountains and cliffs that look picture perfect. Each car handles differently and performs just like in real life. There are several different views including one from inside the car that replicates the interior exactly.     On the other hand there are not as many car choices as in some of the previous versions. There is still no …
