Super(hero) fun

This game, along with Forza 2, came with the Xbox 360 when I purchased it.  This is really what ignited my interest in superheroes & comic books.  There is a huge line-up of characters that you can chose from & certain sections of the game include parts of the backstory on each hero.

I liked the fact that you have several characters on your team & can change them out as needed.   You have 4 heroes on your team & can play with 1-4 players (default heroes are Spider-Man, Wolverine, Thor, & Captain America).  There is also on-line co-op play available but it's no fun if you're playing with little kids because they all want to be Spider-Man & will fight over who gets him.  My favorite characters to use were Elektra ( she seriously kicks butt), Spider-Woman, Thor, & Captain America (I love smashing stuff with his shield).

The game's animations are very good & the story line is interesting & entertaining. You get to visit some interesting places like Stark Tower, Doctor Strange's Inner Sanctum, Atlantis, & (my favorite) Asgard.  The game isn't hard to get the hang of & moves at a good pace.   As you play, each of your heroes earns points for each bad guy they defeat.  You can exchange those points for upgrades to your characters.  You can also unlock different versions of the characters.  This game is lots of fun & I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Hey great review!  I've always turn away from these games for some reason, bt you make them sound like they are a lot of fun!  I'll have to rent it or something.  If you're becoming a comic fan, you might want to check out the data point on the recent Wolverine  film.  I also wanted to let you know that you can now post your reviews to social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook using the new Share box at the top of your reviews!

Pros: Fun action, great co-op, solid graphics     Cons: Goofy voice work, mediocre online play, not much of a story     The Bottom Line: A fun action RPG that is heavy on the action and light on the RPG.      Games based on familiar intellectual properties are either excellent (Knight of the Old Republic) or terrible (Superman). With Marvel Ultimate Alliance, we are given another familiar intellectual property featuring your favorite band …
