I think a lot of people had gripes with Mass Effect 2. I did think it was a bit simplified compared to the first, but still came out of the experience satisfied. The storyline, to me, did not seem nearly as engrossing and the majority of the game is not devoted to furthering the story, but in collecting members for your team.
Mass Effect was one of my favorite games in the last few years, it has an epic story, well developed characters, and is just fun to play. So it would be tough for Bioware to follow up on the sequel that will be equally impressive, and Mass Effect 2 was recently released, and it not only is a worthy successor to the first game, it improved on almost every aspect imaginable, even though it's only early in the year, this will probably be my game of the year. I have to admit that as a PS3 gamer, I never thought I would be writing a review for Mass Effect 2, but this just goes to show that anything is possible. Mass Effect 2 was released on the Xbox 360 more than a year ago to critical acclaim, and had PS3 gamers wondering what all the fuss was about. In 2007 Mass Effect came out and changed the landscape of the RPG. Perhaps the only really huge problem I had with the first Mass Effect... was that it was just too short. The story could be completed really quickly, and I was disappointed that the game had to end. Even more disappointing was having to wait so long for a sequel. But it's totally worth it. FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF A NON-SHOOTER: As I said 3 months ago with Dragon Age Origins review, that title marked my first return (and a beautiful experience that has been) to computer roll playing games.
