A Perfect Gaming System for All Ages

We already have one DS and one DSi in our house. But when my 5 year old said she wanted one for Christmas, the question was, should we ask Santa for the DS or the newer DSi.

For a younger child, this was all she needed. She has no need to browse the internet. We have a lot of game boy games that she can play on this that she would not be able to play on the DSi.

It is a pretty pink color and just what she wanted. It is a definite improvement on her Leapster.

After going on those long flights to china every year, I realized that I needed something to kill those long 15 hr flights since I can hardly sleep on those uncomfortable economy seats.  A handheld portable gaming console was what I decided to go with and the 3 options I had were PSP, DS Lite, and the newer model, DSi.        The PSP wasn't a serious contender since I compared the battery life to the DS's, and I noticed that PSP only lasts for 5 hrs.  …

Going all the way back to the Game Boy Color my kids have always had a hand held gaming system. Previous to the Nintendo DS Lite I never felt like it was acceptable for the parent to play them. (At least not in public.) So when my daughter received her Nintendo DS Lite for Christmas in 2006, I knew Nintendo had finally made the move to expand their target demographic.    This was sleek, compact and portable touch screen gaming like this was still new. Because of the price and …

The Nintendo DS Lite was a "must have" on my daughter's Christmas list. Somehow Santa managed to get her the Metallic Rose one that she had to have. I must admit that I was quite surprised by this little gizmo's abilities. Not only does it feature two very well lit screens, it also has Wi-Fi capabilities allowing my daughter to connect with all of her friends.    Like the old GameBoy, it features traditional buttons used to play games. It also features a stylus which gets a lot …

We purchased the Nintendo DS Lite for my daughter and she loves it. There are a huge amount of quality games for it. She loves the New Super Mario Bros. and Nintendogs is really cute too. It has two screens on it that show different things depending on the game. The screen is bright and has fairly good graphics for a handheld unit. The screen also utilizes touch screen technology that is used during most games. It also has a built in microphone that can be used for example to talk to your pets on …

DS Lite has been very well reviewed so this review is just about the new metallic silver finish. I really like the metallic silver finish compared to the black/red/cobalt because it shows less finger prints and seems more scratch proof. My daughter already decorated it by creating her initial with some swarowski type crystals in pink and silver, and it looks nice.    I have to say that having played the PSP and now the DS, I prefer the DS over the PSP due to the dual screen and …

I love the style and look of this DS system. It's a plus that the bottom of the unit is a matte finish so the fingers prints won't show and it will not scratch easily. The only problem I have it that my right forefinger tends to sit on the side and it is a little uncomfortable to hold. BUT no pain not gain - I will keep on playing!

Pros: Excellent graphics, sound good, light weight and inexpensive.     Cons: Will probably break if you drop it. Plus is very sensitive to heat.     The Bottom Line: This is a nice little gadget for those long road trips, I highly recommend getting one of these. You will have hours of fun with this game system.     I purchased this game system for my wife on Mother's Day. It was a total surprise she had been bugging me to get her one for …
