Absolutely essential for anyone who enjoys writing.

I have been writing reviews on the web for quite some time now.  One of the tools I depend is dictionary.com.  I have a pretty good vocabulary but sometimes I am not quite sure if the word I want to use is appropriate.  I constantly turn to dictionary.com to make sure that it is.  I also frequently utilize Thesaurus.com which just one click away off the dictionary.com site.  No doubt about it--I have been become a much better writer by frequently making use of these marvelous tools.   As far as I am concerned there are two kinds of websites:  "cool" and "useful".  For me, dictionary.com sits right at the top of the "useful" category.     Highly recommended to all!

I agree. I use both Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com.....excellent tools for both aspiring and establishsed writers. Another tool that should always be at one's side is Strunk & White's book, The Elements of Style. It's been around for over 100 years and continues to work as the "bible" for print journalists and all other writers as well.

I guess I would qualify as a frustrated writer. My work requires very little writing and so since 1999 I have been writing reviews on non-fiction books and anthology CD's on amazon.com. I never could … more
