Off the bat - the most useful application for many obvious reasons. Long gone are the days of printing out direction sheets from the browser. About this website

Google Maps offers map services, directions, traffic information, and search features.

Google Maps is a free web-based mapping service. The website features maps, directions services, traffic information, and search features that allow users to search maps for businesses listings such as hotels and restaurants. In addition, maps are viewable as satellite images and in physical terrain format.

Google Maps has come under criticism for revealing satellite imagery of security-sensitive areas, such as Washington, DC and various high-security buildings. In response, Google has agreed to use outdated satellite imagery for many areas. In other areas with less security concerns, high resolution closeup images are often available, such as in most urban centers throughout the US and Europe.
