Be Afraid... Be very Afraid...Bwahahaha!!!!!

Please consider that this is a fictionalized account of how Lunch.com came to be.

Once upon a time, there was an empty space in the information super-highway…

Two exciting creative women met in the world of flashing lights..

One was called Healthy Rache.

Another was called LingEatsCake.

Healthy Rache insists that this empty spot in the cyberspace be made into her own image that it be made "Healthy" and full of energy and life.

LingEatsCake insists that it be filled by all the sweetness of life--love and all the good stuff.

There raged a war between the two Queens that lasted many years.

One day, LingEatsCake and HealthyRache had a meeting and thought of reaching a compromise. A being called DesignDude came along to aid the two lovely ladies.

Many hours pass and the trio became hungry and were found by ARichards…since it was lunch time, all they thought of was having lunch. Now the foursome couldn't decide on what to have for lunch…HealthyRache wanted a salad, Ling wants cake and DD wanted a burger.

Then, along came JRJ who says why not everything and listen to everyone's opinion.

Thus, Lunch was born.

Once it was built, many people came…sharing, sharing, making friends and having fun.

Lunch was ever improving--ever growing--more and more people came and Lunch improved more and more…always accommodating to other folks, always grabbing videos off the alternate universe of youtube. MySpace is in peril now that Twitter has become a friendly neighboring universe…

With Count Orlok always giving suggestions which made DesignDude work harder…

with trashcanman always overloading the space in the internet.

However, Horror Masters Mike-B and Dave79 threatens to overrun the Lunch universe.

With Scotman appearing out of nowhere to wreak more Havoc…

Along came the mighty Woopak--who is now making a fool out of himself and QueenBFlix whom we still don't know how she looks like…

Methinks woopak is just high on TheraFlu.

Congrats to the Lunch team--staff, ambassadors…ALL!!

Sorry, I'd like to mention everyone else but the comedy is ruining my mysterious image.

Lunch-thank you for FEEDING OUR CURIOUSITY and inspiring friendship.

Some of the Coolest folks I've had the privilege to know but haven't even met in person yet!!

(I'm so corny)

I accidentally ran upon this one - hugely entertaining you are!! And by the way, being buzzed up on flu meds isn't a bad thing; makes one more uninhibited which is a good thing!! Loved this one!!!

LOL! thanks! Admittedly this wasn't one of my more famous write ups, but I had fun writing it. I like to goof around... :) wait till you see my coming list LOL!

I can't wait for it -- make sure you take some TheraFlu; loving your sense of humor!!
April 20, 2009
Oh man, that was awesome. There totally needs to be a youtube video of this!
April 21, 2009
hi, Devora, still working on the sequel...LOL!
April 21, 2009
Looking forward to it!!!!!
March 24, 2009
Fully enjoyed it:)!
March 24, 2009
Thanks! stay tuned for the sequel...maybe I'll have some "DayQuill" before I write it--I was real sick with the flu when I wrote this LOL.
March 24, 2009
LOL dayquill has been known to spur creative vision:)
March 24, 2009
Thanks, everybody! who knew me clowning around with a write up like this would get so many hits and such a great reaction. sequels will be forthcoming--I'll ask DesignDude to create a new data point for it LOL!!
March 24, 2009
Nice Woop!! Thanks for the write up... awesome! What an ensemble cast. I love the shout out for @arichards as the first of the group to test the waters. If there is another volume of this tale to be written i'm very curious to see if @angeloignacio plays a role, as he is the one who found @arichards. Just curious as a fan of this saga... not looking to steer the plot by any means.
March 24, 2009
I already have a title for the sequel; I'll give you a hint--it's about a certain "button" ;)
March 22, 2009
absolutely hilarious. the new honor around here will be making it into one of Woo's fantastical renditions ; )
March 23, 2009
Thanks! I think I'll release the extended cut soon! LOL
March 21, 2009
Cute, Woop. It made me think of that one film review EK Maxmias wrote and worked all our names into it. I really miss him. Has anyone heard from him, or have his e-mail address?
March 21, 2009
Great question, Karen. I'll ask Trashie or Mackshere if they do have his e-mail. He commented in one of my theatrical release reviews in amazon sometime ago, but I can't remember which one. I'll see if I can find his e-mail address. You're his dearest online friend, I'm pretty sure he'll pop in one of your amazon threads.
March 21, 2009
Yeah he's dropped by mine once or twice two, but never when I've been on so I haven't been able to catch him, and he doesn't check comments on his old reviews anymore. He was my first amazon friend, he's such a sweetie.
March 21, 2009
That was awesome...really creative. Thanks
March 24, 2009
wait for the sequel... ;)
March 21, 2009
This was a hilarious vision of yours. I wish I was cool enough to be included. Perhaps in the sequel? This was seriously very funny man.
March 21, 2009
Not to worry, DJ...consider this a rough draft. I will release the "extended cut" real soon! I think the TheraFlu may have enhanced my sense of humor LOL I wanted to include most of everyone but I may owe lunch some royalties LOL
March 20, 2009
Thanks for all the comments, guys! I wanted to make it a little different...I figured, why not just make a write up as fun as the site?

Okay, here's that odd circumstance where I am being offered something for nothing and whining about it.     As you can probably tell from my rating, I generally like Lunch.com. One of the site owners found my work on Epinions.com and asked me to drop in and give Lunch.com a quick whirl, even offering a little bit of payment as an incentive. With Epinions.com swirling ominously around the suckage drain at the moment, I shrugged and said "Well, why not?" And did I mention Lunch.com …

I blogged about Lunch.com on my personal blog (Sharrie.TV) 2 days ago.   Here it is:   As some of you might have know, I was into travelogues many years ago. Spent majority of my waking hours on VirtualTourist. Made some great friends along the way too & got to see many parts of the world which I otherwise wouldn't have step into!      Well, the boss JR Johnson sold it off (I believe he did unless I got my facts wrong!) and is beginning to …

Well, they got me.  I can't remember exactly when I came to Lunch.com.  It was in late December, and when I first got here, I must admit, I was not nearly as impressed.  But they were gracious enough to send me an invite and so I accepted.  Because I was curious.  The site was, for the most part nice, and they just kept improving.  Are there any immediate problems I have with the site now?  Well, not that haven't already been addressed …

This is a review that I have been contemplating for quite some time now and one that I certainly take no great joy in writing.  But after spending more than three years contributing to Lunch.com I have finally come to the realization that the high hopes that I had for this site are probably never going to be realized. The clarion call to "Feed Your Curiosity" is what attracted me to the site in the first place.   The prospect of engaging other members in writing …

It's interesting how community managers disappeared entirely from the site as soon as they are not on payroll! Beats me who is actually running this site now or it's simply on auto-pilot these days. As for me, I hardly switched on the laptop these days and writing for leisure on the iPad or iPhone is not my forte.      If a founder is no longer passionate about his/her site, should the members or employees really be?!

Dear nonexistent people who who keep popping up at random: If you're only posting a phony profile of a person who doesn't actually exist, don't follow my work! You're a waste of space and having your name on my followers list is a discredit to me. If you're not an active poster and/or have never been an active poster and/or have no intention of ever being an active poster, you have no business placing me - or really ANYONE AT ALL - on your follow list!

Well, I'm not going to lie to you. Other than logging out for 15 minute coffee breaks at work or signing off for the end of the day, lunch is what I look forward to. Considering the work I do, lunch can never be heavy nor can I indulge myself in something too sweet. Perhaps a snack that's low in carbs, salts, & sugars will suffice while I catch up on emails or what not. Lunch is a very peaceful time of day where you kick back & relax while …

What's this—another social networking site??  Well, not exactly.  Unlike the other popular leading sites, MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter, Lunch.com  uses your personal likes and dislikes to scientifically connect you with other members; it keeps a tab on what kind of things you like and makes no assumption that you are already seeking a connection with long lost friends, family, or coworkers. "It's not who you know, but what you know" on Lunch.com.      …
