Still the best internet portal for independent music.  Get updates from the bands, djs and producers you want to listen to and drop the ones you don't like.

Agreed!  I don't really log in to use my Myspace account much anymore, but whenever people tell me to check out bands, I always search for them on Myspace, and they're more likely than not there.  Have you used it for your own music, or have you discovered bands that way?  I'd love to hear more! :)

Totally agreed!

I listen to electronic dance music, which is mainly self-produced and promoted. Because friend requests on Myspace also include info on how many mutual friends I have (as well as the ability to search through the requester's friend list). Myspace makes it easier to gauge what new music I may (or may not) want to listen to based on my taste, not someone else's. When I really like a track, I buy it. <br/>As far as my own work, I do post original photographs and photographs, both original and stolen, that I've graffed.

Quick Tip by . December 17, 2010
When I first joined MySpace a little over two years ago, it was my favorite social networking site. But the changes that they have implemented since then have now made it my least favorite of the sites I regularly use. My problem is that the site isn't as user friendly, it's limited the level of creativity in blogs and photos, it's become far too commercial with all of the ads (especially the ones that appear on the profile pages), and it seems to be having more and more technical glitches.

In the early millenium, a website called Myspace was established and furthered the craze of social networking further than we'd ever seen before.  Social networking wasn't a foreign thing before myspace.  Websites like Live Journal and whatnot had been around long before then.  Aspects of social networking have been around for a long time.  Online forums are a perfect example of people getting to know one another on the internet.  Myspace just took social networking to a …

I'll be brutally honest here - I originally joined MySpace to be able to watch out for my sons. They were young teens at the time, and I was concerned about the kind of people that they were hanging out with - so I joined MySpace and sort of "watched" out for anything strange that I needed to look out for. Some people don't agree that you should watch your kids like this, but I think that every caring parent should keep an eye on their kids activities, ESPECIALLY as teenagers.  Although …

It was yesterday afternoon when I decided to create a Facebook accountant because all my friends nagging about me never having one started to get ..a bit old.  I know, what does this have to do with Myspace? Well, I've been active on myspace for a few years now. And sadly, it has become a part of me. It's great for contacting friends I never see, knowing updates on friends lives, etc. Even though Myspace started getting crazy with all the apps, new homepage layouts, and such .. there is still …

I first signed up for Myspace a few years ago when social networking was just on the rise and was a new and fun thing to do online.  A friend of mine said she was on there and told me to sign up...and so began my social networking addiction!  It's a really great concept!  I was able to locate several of my friends from Arizona whom I'd lost touch with over the years.  I hadn't talked to one friend in over 5 years and found her through the high school I attended.  …
