Cuz life's a trip worth scrappin'!

I'm pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to scrapbooking. If there's something I imagine in my mind, I NEEED to find it, or find some material to DIY. Which is why, I have yet to settle for any actual scrapbook, because I know exactly what I want and I have found nothing close to it.

So this point of this is, I need options. The more options for scrapbooking, the better. The more creative and cute, the better too.. obviously.... and then I came across Scrap Your Trip. The first thing that I attracted me to this site - they have paper designs and stickers for every vacation spot under the sun. OK, so I couldn't find anything for Latvia, but I'll cut them some slack, they do have most places, international and national.

Ok, also, you're scrapbooking your kids life because they just grow up too fast.  There's paper for all months, sports, grades, camps, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving,  ice skating, graduations, Disney themes. I mean the possibilities are just endless here.  So for those of you who want to scrapbook, but don't have time to go all out on each and every one, buy a couple of these sheets, get some cardstock and glue your pictures on for a quick put together yet creative scrapbook.

Check out their embellishments too - there's just as many varieties, if not more than there is for papers.

They also do a bunch of personalized stuff, names on stockings, numbers on sports jerseys, vacation spots.. you can really request anything imaginable.

On to price and quality:

Scrapbooking is not a cheap hobby, especially if you are like me and love the embellishments and want to make each scrapbook perfect.  The paper and products here, are a little more expensive than what you would normally find for 12x12 sheets.  However, the quality of these papers are MUCH higher than those that I buy at Joanne's or Target.  A few of these I have ordered are glossy and thick, I actually felt bad putting anything on them so I just left them as its own one pager in my scrapbook.  A lot (if not most) of their products you can't find in stores, they're themed and have more an impact in your scrapbook.

I am also a huge fan of mom & pop shops.  Scrap Your Trip definitely have the mom & pop shop feel.  The president, Julie, sends out weekly newsletters, and in every email she includes a little anecdote about her family or something personal in her life that relates to her scrapbooking business. It's really cute and really makes it feel like I'm supporting someone that really cares! They also include a handwritten note on every order!

The down side to mom & pop like shops? They only have discount codes twice a year for 25% off, but they did keep the economic recession the past year in mind and had an THIRD 25% sale in "honor" of the bad economy. There is a section where there are always a couple of products on sale, so check those out especially when that holiday has past.

Check this site out, you won't be disappointed by the variety!

Melissa - my future kids are going to have their own personal papparrazi - ME! I personally would go with making your own, a few pieces of cardstock, some embellishments, themed sheets of papers and of course your photos and you're in business! I think a scrapbooking 101 review is coming soon =) Oh yeah, and the Target aisle.. I spend half my time at Target there....

I love that you scrapbook! I know this hobby has a HUGE following and aspire to get more into it, especially now with all the millions of shots we take of our two year old = ) What's the best way to get started, with a pre-made kit or making your own? I look longingly at that isle in Target all the time. You should review Target's selection of scrapbooking supplies too!
