Free Credit Report is not free, not in the least bit. They lure you in with those words and state that you will be able to get your credit reports free. You are legally allowed access to a copy of your credit report (yes, for free) from each of the agencies. However, with this site, they only give you "free access" for the first month but, end up charging you $12.95 a month thereafter.

For what, you ask? The ability to keep an eye on your credit monthly. But, after you get the annual report, you shouldn't need to keep an eye on it monthly, that's superfluous. Also, you only get one "report" from one agency, Experian. You have to pay $30 to get all three.

They make it a bit difficult for you to opt out of their service as well. There isn't an online live chat option or email or even an online form to fill out (like the ones you use to unsubscribe from EVERYTHING). There is only a 877 number that you have to call (ugh!) and wait for a customer service rep (double ugh!) and then, they try to sell you on anything to keep you (triple ugh).

Bottom line: This company is a scam. Go onto annualcreditreport.com to get your free reports and save your time, sanity and money.
