Mammoth Mountain Ski Trail Map
Mammoth is MAMMOTH. A huge mountain with lots of terrain, good steeps, nice chutes. This place has a great race program for kids, and I'll be putting my kids through it in a couple of years. I also love the fact that they reduced season passes to $576 for this season. This is now my home mountain, so it's become my favorite.
Whistler Ski Trail Map
I love this place. A lot of challenging runs, and sizable cliffs. The Apres Ski scene is unparalleled in North America. Whister village has something for everyone...even if you don't ski. My only complaint is that the snow tends to be rather wet and heavy.
Squaw Valley Ski Trail Map
I grew up skiing this mountain, and it is Nor Cal's version of Mammoth. A lot of steeps at this place, great tree skiing, and a decent 'resort' feel at the base of the mountain. Squaw has not completely upgraded to high speed lifts, and it can still get crowded on weekends.

What did you think of this list?

Nice list! Perfect for this winter season :)  I'm sure you've got more ski resorts up your sleeve that we'd all love to see, too!

Great list Ross, I am going to have to jump all over this one. Can you add all the data points and I will just re-arrange them :>). I love the mountain, but the village is a buzz kill. We were there last year and it was at about 60% occupancy... hopefully it will recover. You gotta be stoked on the new flights out of LAX as well. It is a haul from the Central Coast.

I like to surf, ski, golf, play volleyball - basically anything outdoors. I don't like playing pool, golden tee, or shuffleboard (during the day) in dank bars.
