Lunch is looking to make a change for the better. We think there's some serious untapped potential to evolve the way we communicate online. If we raise the bar for how and what we contribute online, it can make us all better people. As a result, the world around us gets smarter and more empathetic.
Some might call it lofty. We think it's totally doable, and have set our sights on a handful of vital principles to make it happen.
Here's what we aim to do with Lunch:
Find Common Ground
It's pretty undeniable that the world could use a lot more understanding. Discovering fresh perspectives by connecting to people and ideas that we may not otherwise encounter helps us all become more tolerant and thoughtful.
Spark Critical Thought
Everyone knows a little something that can benefit someone else. If we all take a moment to share our perspective, imagine how much smarter and engaged the world will become. Most of our views aren't truly tested until we go through the exercise of sharing them with others.
Affect the Greater Good
It scratches that essential humanitarian itch to share something helpful and meaningful with other people. Sharing your knowledge can make a world of difference to someone else, and there's a mutual benefit to giving as good as you get. This cycle has the potential to grow into an incredibly powerful positive influence on our society.
Promote Responsible Participation
Being accountable for your participation in a community means standing behind your contributions with a credible identity. What if we treat each other online as we do when we're face to face? We'll see a transformation into a more respectful and good-natured online community.
Spotlight What Matters Most
It should be easier to cut through the clutter of content online. You deserve smarter filtering to help zero in on the most relevant and high quality content and people online.
